    Hello Everyone,

I need people’s advice. I just passed Audit and just had a newborn in July. My FAR credit doesnt expire till next August 2013. I am contemplating what to take next… BEC or REG. I started studying for REG but since it’s a lot of computations too with the Tax Returns, it’s hard to concentrate without interruptions of feeding my baby.

This is my question, should I take REG or BEC first? I thought I should take BEC first since it’s more theory and concepts than REG. Please Help!

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 74,84 🙂
    REG - 76
    BEC - 72, 80

Congrats on the new addition to the family! My little girl was 3 weeks old when I took my first exam (we had/have a two-year old running around too!).

I would keep going with REG. Yes, the first few chapters are tax-heavy and have a lot of computations. But then you get to the Business Law section and there are practically no computations at all. BEC has a bunch of formulas and computations as well, so you wont really be gaining anything by switching exams.

I cannot stress enough how important it is that you get some rest and not try to be a superwoman. I hope you have some help at home. Make sure you are getting some rest. If you can get through 2 or 3 hours of studying the entire day, then you consider that a good day. My best studying came for about 1.5 – 2 hours in the later evening. We would feed the newborn, get the two year old into bed, and then I would study for a couple hours before getting bored/tired. I would only study if both children were sleeping so that I didnt take away any time with them.

So, to make a long story short, keep studying REG.

Yeah, its definitely tough. I was working full time too. Just remember this is a short-term sacrifice and it is going to benefit you and your family for the rest of your life!

Congrats on your new addition! I say put the “S” on your chest and go for it! But it's probably already there. Do rest though. Good luck!

    FAR Passed
    REG Passed
    AUD Passed
    BEC Passed

All aboard, this train's leaving. Next stop, TBD!
