Studying for Reg and Bec together

So my situation is that I didn’t get a passing score for Reg because I completely screwed myself by not attempting any Simulations at all..ended up with a 59 just based on the MCQ’s…this was mostly because I was not keeping an eye on the time and didn’t realize the weight of the simulations.

I have been studying for BEC for the past week and have finished just the lectures portion of COST, ECONOMICS, & IT. I still have all the MCQ’s to study and the rest of the sections.

I also need to retake REG right away. I was thinking of taking REG and BEC back to back…as in, study for BEC along with REG. I know it isn’t a good idea, but REG will be mostly revision of Chapters & MCQ’s, and BEC I have yet to study the rest of the chapters and do all the MCQ’s. With that being said, I was planning on taking REG on Jan 2, and BEC on Jan 10. This way I will have a week to go over all the questions. The only reason I want to do this is because I really feel like I’m falling behind and would like to take AUD by the end of Feb, giving myself 1.5 months roughly.

I am studying 5-7 hours a day and will keep that up for the most part. What do you guys think? Is this a good approach? Or should I completely forget about BEC and continue on to knock REG out first?

Another option is that surprisingly, I had a chance to Register BEC for Dec 6…and with just COST, ECONOMICS, & IT lectures completed, I am still considering taking it then, or 2nd option, pushing it back until after REG Exam.

    Thank you for helping.

My advise is study well, and avoid winging exam, or you will end up re-taking. Focus on one at a time, it's a crap load of info on each exam so why take the risk?

    FAR - 71, 68, 74, (8/31/14) 78 ✔
    REG - 67, 71, 71, (10/18/14) 78 ✔
    BEC - (11/29/14) 86 ✔
    AUD - 73, (4/4/15) 86 ✔

I can't believe this is over! 2 years and 3 months..

I don't think studying for 2 exams at once is a good idea, but it's really your decision. I studied for AUD and BEC together and only passed BEC. It has been more effective for me to study for each one individually and take them until I pass them. I took longer than the average person, I'm sure, but I have only had to retake AUD once and REG once (assuming I pass on this score release). I would rather take my time to ensure less retakes than waste hundreds of dollars. If you think you'll be ready for BEC in 4 more days then go for it. I'm just not a fan of sitting just to sit or sitting to try to get it out of the way if you don't really have the time to study properly, but that's because I couldn't do it. If you can, then that's great!

I agree with everyone above. Study one section at a time. Focus on REG since that is fresh.

That's a perfect score on the MCQs!!!

I don't think you need to study much at all. Just speed it up!

I dunno… that kind of thinking could give the OP a false sense of security, which is a dangerous thing on these exams. A common strategy on REG is to spend 30 minutes on each MCQ testlet, leaving 1:30 for the sims. If the OP didn't do any sims because he/she spent the entire 3 hours on MCQs, that's double the typical MCQ time. I'm sure I could have performed way better on MCQs if I had twice the time, but sometimes you just have to pick an answer and move on for the sake of the rest of the exam.

needhelpnow, I agree with the others who recommended not attempting to study both at once. There was a poster here recently who was asking the same thing about REG and BEC who is very smart and totally committed/organized. He pretty quickly abandoned the plan of simultaneous studying so he could focus just on REG. It just has too much material to try to have other things taking up valuable real estate in your brain. Besides, what's the hurry? You said you're falling behind, but do you have scores expiring soon? You don't have a signature, so I'm not sure of your status. Have you passed FAR?

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

There are no shortcuts. Good luck though.

    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 83
    BEC - 77
    REG - 70, 78

Now what the hell do I do?

I studied for FAR and AUD together taking AUD 3 weeks after FAR and it worked well for me. The key is just doing all the questions, learning why you got questions wrong, and not worrying about SIMs at all,, just trying to master the topic itself.

Thank you for all your suggestions. Is 59 on MCQ really almost a perfect score?

    MCQ – 60%

    TBS – 40%

Receivng 59 by not doing any TBS make it sounds like a perfect score

But how come you didnt know the weight of TBS, did your review course told you so? which review course are you using? Did you watch the introduction?

    REG - 80 (02/13/2015) Roger + Ninja Flash Card + Ninja MCQ + Becker's Note
FAR - 84 (05/29/2015) Roger + Ninja MCQ + Some Wiley book questions
BEC - 77 (08/27/2015) Roger + Ninja MCQ + Half Wiley book questions
AUD - 87 (08/28/2015) Roger + Ninja MCQ + Half Wiley book questions

If you scored stronger on all MCQ sections on your score report, then you did almost get full credit for MCQ. It does not mean that you got most of them right. It means you scored enough points to get the maximum score or close to it.

    FAR - 08/08/14 - 93
    BEC - 08/28/14 - 95
    REG - 10/11/14 - 96
    AUD - 11/30/14 - 99
