Hello all,
I am i really hoping to take (and hopefully pass) all 4 parts before the changes in 2017. I’m planning on taking FAR in early to mid January 2016 (haven’t registered or applied for NTS yet) so it seems like a year should be enough time for all 4 parts.
I started studying in September and got a huge reality check! in the 5 years since I’ve been out of school I can’t believe how much i have forgotten.
I’m using Roger and I do like the lectures i just feel like I need a better method because I don’t feel like i’m retaining all this information . My issue is that I don’t feel like I am doing enough questions and so I was hoping you all could help me make a better plan to integrate more question.
Because I feel like i’ve forgotten so much I listen to each roger lecture and type pretty detailed notes in the note taking section provided on the site. Unfortunately this takes a while to pause the video, type, rewind, pause, type, bold/underline notes etc. so it takes me typically 3 evenings (even 4 if the chapter is long) to get through listening to all the lectures. Then I do the questions in the book.
Should I be doing questions after each lecture? Should I scan through the questions in the book to see which ones relate to the lecture i just finished and do that.
I guess up until this point it just seem to make sense to listen and take notes for all the lectures and then do the question as sort of a test for myself but I seem to get a lot of them wrong, get discouraged, realized I’m falling behind in my study schedule (two chapters a week) and move on. I’ve been reading here that a combination of study materials (like this and ninja questions) is best to get a more diverse experience but if i’m having trouble keeping up with one course i’m afraid adding another set of materials will be overwhelming.
Feedback on my current study method would be helpful.
