    Hey all,

So, I’ve passed AUD and BEC, but my BEC expires end of Feb. I’m currently studying for REG (third time). I’d like any feedback on what I see as the two options.

Option 1: Take REG and FAR in Oct/Nov window, leaving Jan/Feb window as backup if I don’t pass either.

Option 2: Take REG at end of Oct/Nov window, and take FAR at end of Jan/Feb Window.

I’m leaning towards option #1, as I think I have about 3 weeks left to be good with REG, which would leave me with 6-7 weeks for FAR studying (passed FAR in 2010, but lost it and didn’t pass in 2012). Option #2 is a little more comforting, but I’m outtaluck if I don’t pass both on the first try (basically).

Also, work full-time and have an 20 month old. Good times!

I'm in the exact same boat. I received a 74 on FAR in Q3, causing me to lose credit for REG. So I have AUD and BEC behind me. Since I just took FAR, most of that info is still (I hope) in my brain somewhere. So I'm re-studying and taking FAR as soon as I can (early October). I am also planning on re-taking REG at the end of November. I want to be 100% done in 2013 … for obvious reasons … and because I want to enjoy the holidays without having to study. That being said, I'd try and take both this year … take the one that is freshest in your mind first. Just my two cents.

    It's finally freaking over.

Thanks for the feedback, Gatorbates! I like the way you're thinking through this. REG was my most recent non-pass, so that's where I'm focusing. My paranoia is definitely around having to take both twice!! Just need to buckle down and eliminate the non-productive.

@joshandjury I would try to take option 2 as that leaves you the most time for studying and giving yourself the best shot at passing.

Also, I would check with your state board if you end up not passing them both before your one credit expires. I live in Kentucky, and I know of at least two people who have gotten an extention (for one testing window) on one of thier scores in order to avoid losing credit after having passed 3 of the exams. I certainly would not assume this was a given, as I know our state board evaluates giving the extention on a case by case basis. However, I would definitely recommend checking wtih your state board if this happens to you.
