hello, I just launched a startup and was suprised with the sales I generated in the first 2 weeks and feel like it can grow to something significant. I take FAR in 5 weeks and have no motivation to study at all..

I’ve already passed REG and BEC and most likely passed AUD so I only have FAR to go.

I guess what I’m asking for is some motivation/advice…I was hoping to be done with the exam this year to begin doing taxes this season but with the online startup I cant focus at all although I do have 4-5 hours of study…

also , I would rather not reschedule the exam atm.

First congrats on the start up, congrats on passing the parts you have passed. This may seem silly but have you told many people close to you about the exam? If you need a little extra motivation tell more people you date of the exam…if you've actually scheduled it that is…if you haven't schedule it today. Clearly you have the capacity to pass it…and you real close…make some promises to a significant other…find someone to kick you in the rear when you need it. Good luck…now go do it!

Congrats on your new endeavor, that is very exciting. I agree with Nbkna2c, tell people close to you so that you have support–you are going to need it because life is going to get really crazy! You are halfway–hopefully three quarters of the way done– don't lose your enthusiasm for getting your CPA! Try and remember how you felt when you first embarked on this path—you probably have some of the same excitement that you are experiencing now. You didn't say what your new endeavor is, but I am sure being a CPA would be a bonus. Finish what you started and then you won't have to experience regret later on it life. If that doesn't work, then think about how much harder it will be to study while your new business is getting more steam! Come on— you got this!!!!!

Congrats on your start up! Here's what I would do. Have a LONG talk with yourself. Say you don't “want” to study and embrace that. Its ok not to “want” to.

Then tell yourself you always do things you don't “want” to do, because you have to. Like laundry, do you want to do it? Nope. Remind yourself that you do have the perseverence to push through.

Motivation is overrated. Implies deciding you want to do something. Just do it (thanks Nike!)

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Congratulations! Get this FAR animal off your back and out of your way, and you'll be all done, never have to see review books or questions ever again. You don't want your other passed parts to expire.

    Couldn't pass again!

If you stop now, you're never going to return and finish. That's a gaurantee.

You have one more section left. Suck it up and do it. I've seen this happen several times. My assumption is you're going to get busier with your new startup, so if you don't do it now (while you're less busy), you're definitely not going to do it then. And you're also risking the expiration of a test. Once that happens, forget it. You'll probably lose all motivation to continue.

    BEC - 67, 79 - (expires 5/24)
    REG - 74, 72, 77 - Key to Passing: RTFQ
FAR - 77 - Chance favors the prepared mind.
    AUD - 64, (5/14) - FREEDOM!! (i hope)

Hut Hut said it. Get it done and you'll never have to think about it again. Also, FAR won't be as hard for you as for other people because you've already been through 3 sections.

    AUD - 88
    FAR - 90
    REG - 85
    BEC - 88

Awesome advice guys and thank you so much for the support. I really needed it!

I was going to study today but got stuck negotiating some contracts to try to take this thing through the roof.

after reading some of the posts on here, I really need to stop slacking and balance more. I may as well get this mofo out the way.

my startup is on a crappy site atm and making decent income already. I'm negotiating a partnership with someone else as well as moving to a new bad ass domain that will aid in SEO's and maximize the startups potential. will probably post it once we get everything set up.

again, thx for the advice and motivation

also @ Yankee and Mla . I recognize you guys from the AUD forum and hope you guys passed.

@ others really appreciate the support and wish you guys the best of luck
