Always concerned about running out of time, I never took a break or even considered one.

I have to watch my fluid intake before the exams… I have taken a bathroom break before the SIMS, probably like 50% of the time. I didn't do on one of my FAR attempts and I was so uncomfortable towards the end. It's hard to focus when you've got to go. I took a break on AUD, used the AL and checked all my SIM answers and still finished with minutes to spare.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

Never took a break. Once I get in the zone, I don't want to get out of it. I'm so nervous prior to the exam so once I get past those initial jitters after the exam starts I have to keep going.

    FAR: 4/19/2014 - 85!
    AUD: 5/27/2014 - 90!
    REG: 7/18/2014 - 81!
    BEC: 8/13/2014 - 84!

I took a break between MCQ testlets both times I sat for FAR.

I didn't take a break at all when I sat for BEC. It's just a much faster exam so I didn't see the need.

I had AUD Saturday evening and took a break before SIMs. That was as much to wake myself up as to actually use the restroom.

My Prometric center is great about getting you in and out quickly. I'm usually only away for 3-4 minutes.

I took breaks during 2 of my 4 and was really paranoid on both occasions. I didn't want to take any breaks but my bladder is the size of a walnut and nature called.

    FAR: Passed
    REG: Passed
    BEC: Passed
    AUD: Passed

I have never taken a break. I probably could have afforded one when taking FAR, but I used every minute I had for BEC.

    FAR - 58/72/75
    AUD - 80
    BEC - 71/78
    REG - 80

DONE!!! "If you can dream it, you can do it!"

I took a break for the exams I was over-confident about, like FAR. But when I got to REG, I used all the time, even tried to get the prometric girl to hurry up and get me in there so I can start.

    CISA - Smashed 2012
    CIA - Passed 2015

I think it's completely personal preference. I take 1-2 breaks every test. I always have plenty of time and like to go sip on an energy drink and get prepared for the next testlet. Other people want every second they can get to work on the test and don't find that they need a break.

I always take at least one. I usually drink a monster before the exam and another one on break. I get in the zone when I'm jacked up on caffeine, and I don't want to do the bathroom squirm during the SIMs.

I think taking breaks depends A LOT on your prometric testing center too. How busy the staff is, how fast or slow the check in-check out process goes, if the staff computers are laggy, etc.

So far, I have taken a break after my multiple choice and before the simulations on each exam. This may change to two breaks since I have the two four hour exams left…

    Florida CPA!
    Took final exam 2/25/15.
    Sent in Application 3/12/15.
    Issued License 3/20/15.
Used CPA Excel solely for all exams.

I've only taken two sections so far, but I haven't used a break. I agree with some other posters, that I'm paying for this time, so I am using it. Also, I'm a relatively fast test-taker, either I know it or I don't. So I haven't been too worried about running out of time. Mostly, I want to take it and get on with my day.

    AUD- 97! (May 2014)
    BEC- 79 (August 2014)
    REG- 64, 83 (February 2015)
    FAR- May 2015

I usually take a break between the 2nd & 3rd testlets. If I had to pee in the middle of the simulations, I would end up rushing through and not doing a good job. I drink a little water and have a snack, too.

    BEC - 72, 82! ✓
    FAR - 80! ✓
    AUD - 70, 92! ✓
    REG - 74, 78! ✓
