Always concerned about running out of time, I never took a break or even considered one.

Up until I took REG yesterday I was worried how I would sit still for 3 hours straight….that was the shortest 3 hours of my life!

    REG 8/15/14 (73); 11/13/14 (82)-expired πŸ™
    AUD 5/30/15 (80)

I agree with Tax Lady. Although you get 3-4 hours for these exams, but time is up before you know it. My prometric center is awesome about getting you signed in/out for breaks. They stop everything they are doing. I'm usually logged out for 3 minutes.

    REG: May 2014 - 83
    BEC: July 2014 - 82

    Nope nope nope.

I thought about it during FAR because I was ahead of schedule, and wound up so glad that I didn't. I actually ran out of time on the TBS's.

Then for REG and AUD I didn't for fear of running out of time again. Wound up flying through them with easily an hour or more to spare. But still… I just don't like chancing it after that first experience.

I'd say if you can push through without a break. Push through.

Break hours are “incorporated” into the duration of the test.

I had to take a break between my 2nd & 3rd testlets when I took REG, but only because I had to go puke. I'm embarrassed to say I have very bad testing anxiety. Passed it though! Thank God that one is over!

I don't quite understand the not taking breaks standpoint. I always took at least 2 breaks during each exam and walked out with like an hour left on the clock. Taking a break helps clear your mind for a few minutes. Plus I would be so hyper and antsy sitting in one spot for 3-4 hours. Breaks are the way to go if you ask me.

I take a break between every testlet to use the bathroom and get a drink of water or a snack. The catch is that I've taken my last 3 exams while pregnant so it was necessary. I only take 3-5 minutes each time and always have plenty of time to spare at the end though.

I thought about taking a break before the SIMS in FAR yesterday and I'm glad I didn't. Got 3 really tough and long ones that I had to dig through the AL for clarification. I finished with 10 minutes to spare but, taking a break would have cut it close.

I have to take bathroom breaks…usually 2 (I take 8 AM exams, so there's lots of coffee consumption happening beforehand). My bladder would distract me too much if I didn't. I usually run to the bathroom and run back. πŸ™‚
