AnonymousInactiveGood question – I didn't take a break during AUD and really wished I had. So, I took a break during FAR and really wished I HADN'T. It took me 3 minutes to wait in line to sign out. And over 5 minutes to wait in line to get back in. They ask you to do all the security measures over again. I was fuming. Keep an eye on how long it will take to get in and out of the testing room.

AnonymousInactiveAlways. I can't not pee for 3-4 hours. It's insane that we don't get a 5 minute scheduled bathroom break…Especially during FAR…

AnonymousInactive4 exams taken, zero breaks. Needed every second to check and double check. But when you gotta go….you gotta go.

GanbatteParticipantDidn't think I would go but on my first exam, FAR, I had to go between MCQ and Sims. Got a drink of water from my locker too. Crazy they don't let you drink even a sip of water for 4 hours. Took about 7 minutes total. I plan to take breaks for the other exams as well since it didn't take up too much time and it's good to get up and walk around a bit.

KBinMNMemberIMO you don't need every second, not on all of the exams. Take a pee break or 2 if you need to. Audit I was done over an hour early, time that would not have been better spent second guessing myself.

KimboroniMemberYeah, for me, I can choose between:
Not taking a break, getting incredibly fuzzy-minded and eventually a headache, and therefore needing way too long just to read the question, then still coming up with the wrong answer, and running out of time. Unlikely to pass in that scenario.
OR
Taking a break to get my blood sugar back up, then being able to think clearly and concisely so I can go through and slice and dice everything, and therefore finish with time left and actually pass.

AnonymousInactiveI did, I didn't want my bladder to distract me from sims

sunlessCMemberfor FAR I never even considered the possibility of a break, I was so nervous about running out of time. I finished the sims with about 35 minutes left on the clock, though, so maybe I could've, but I kinda get “in the zone” and don't want to take my mind off of the exam.
I'm taking AUD next and I can't believe AUD gives you the same amount of time as FAR. that seems INSANE to me. I did sets of 20 MCQs each for all of FAR while studying and they always took me 20-30 minutes each. for AUD I do the same and they take me 9-10 minutes. I'm gonna have so much extra time I don't even know what to do. probably just try to slow it down and read as carefully as humanly possible. knowing there's almost no rush is a huge relief.

LindrobeMemberNo way! I have a terrible blood sugar issue too (have actually passed out several times) but I usually eat a protein filled breakfast (no carbs) and then some nuts right before I walk into the testing center. Although I usually have a snack every 2 hours because of my hypoglycemia, the protein helps to keep my blood sugar level for long enough to take the exam without having a snack. It takes way too long to sign out, sign back in, get fingerprinted, etc.

JamesBJamesParticipantI never take a break. I spend a couple of seconds taking a deep breath to prepare myself for the SIMs / WC, but I've had to work until the last second for FAR and BEC.

AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!

koz124MemberI have never taken a break, and it's not because of the time issue. Although I could see myself getting panicky and annoyed at how slow people move to get you checked back in. It's just a personal thing for me. I have good bladder control and when I'm in the “zone” I just plow through. I guess I've had enough practice at work. Although my Garmin Vivofit hates me on test days…screaming at me with those red lines…
Studying with Wiley Review, Wiley Test Bank, Ninja Audio.
Retakes with Ninja MCQ only...awesome!

AnonymousInactiveI used to drive from LA to Vegas nonstop.
Now I can go from Chicago to Milwaukee nonstop.
So I can handle 1st testlet to the last SIM just fine.
I got a bladder of Hoover dam.
I just need to stay calm…that ‘s my problem….

AnonymousInactivedepends on my time, but typically i smoke a cig between every testlet… lol
