AnonymousInactiveThat makes two of us lol. I just say to myself that I have had enough failed attemps, and that my goal is to be done with all of this by the end of the year. 🙂

GoVPIParticipantEverytime I don't feel like studying I remember my auditing professor from this past semester–
“CPAs make $20,000-$30,000 more a year than an accountant. [Cha-ching noise], I can hear the cash register all the way to the bank.”
“You are either born to wealth or born to work”
Those two quotes keep me going!!
BEC 8/14/14 - Passed
Graduated from college 12/13/14
AUD 8/31/15 - 74. Retake - Passed

KenMemberHi,
I am studying for retake for my REG and sometimes I feel very frustrated as well and I do understand how do you feel. At those moment, I usually tell myself that I have to keep moving forward. If I quit this, I am just some sort of loser who don't put up a good fight before I give up. So keep going my friend and don't lose yourself. It will pay off sooner or later!!! That ‘s the only reason I am doing these.

HeartsMimiCPAParticipantI go into the study group threads up top and see how much further ahead everyone else is. I usually then panic and hit the books hard, at least for a few hours.
AUD - 65, 89!
REG - 70, 89!
FAR - 78!

UHC2005MemberI realize that I have 3 other people at home relying on me to pass these exams in order to better both myself and them. That generally helps me get through the late nights…well, that and coffee or beer. 🙂
Using Ninja MCQ, NINJA Notes, Audio, Flashcards and BLITZ, and 2014 Wiley Text
FAR - (61,63)
AUD - (68)Keep Calm and RTMFQ
Accountant, what is best in life? To crush your MCQs, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentation of their SIMS!

LStevens225ParticipantI know that I just struggled with this. I found my motivation then lost it… I think I found it again. We want to start a family soon but I don't want to before passing so my motivation is sort of that. There is no better time in my life then right now! I have to stay focused to in a way move on to the next step. I wasted a lot of time between college with my personal life (marriage, buying a house, etc.) that now we have settled in it time to study. Also I was very negative about studying/passing., I finally thought I can't do that. I have to KNOW I am going to pass. And I have to KNOW I am going to pass THIS time. So besides just wanting it in general I have that I know now is the best time to do this and that I have to know that I will pass… I hope this helps you come up with your own motivation.

SkynetParticipant@bernhardt – This is what's going to happen if you don't study or focus
You don't study or focus
You will fail the CPA exams
You can't get licensed
You will be stuck in the same old crummy job while everyone is moving up and getting promoted
Your girlfriend or wife will be nagging on you why you don't want to do anything to get ahead
You get into a big argument and she leaves you for the Sucessful CPA
You end up depressed and starts drinking
You get to a point where the drinking costs you your job
You end up losing everything and become homeless
You are sleeping in he park when a major thunderstorm arrives
A huge tornado is in your path
ITS A SHARKNADO!
I BEGINS RAINING SHARKS!
A GREAT WHITE FALLS OUT OF THE SKY!
YOU ARE SO FRIGHTENED AND TRIED TO OUTRUN IT BUT CAN'T
YOU GET SWALLOWED BY THE GREAT WHITE!
Moral of the story
Study and focus on the CPA exams
and don't get swallowed by a Great White Shark!
