So today I just nailed a bunch of MCQs since i have approximately 12 days left until my exam. In doing so, I was wondering whats the purpose of doing the MCQs? Are they very similar to the questions maybe even identical to the questions asked on the exam? The reason I ask is mainly for reassurance purposes to boost my spirits about taking the exam. I’ve known people who did really well on the MCQs and have failed the exam multiple times and i’m trying to figure out why, if there is indeed a similarity of the MCQs

The exam questions are not identical to the practice questions, but they are testing you on the same concepts.

Just be sure that you understand WHY you're getting them right or wrong.

The exam questions can present the information in many different formats and from various perspectives, so IMO you have to know the info backwards and forwards. Not just a basic understanding.

So, the more MCQ's you practice, the more various ways you'll be challenged to approach the information. This shows you how well you know it – or not.

THAT's the reason for doing a BUNCH of MCQ's – the more you do, the more ways you'll learn the info, so the more you're prepared for the exam.

I think it also helps you practice the process itself– reading the question carefully, then reading the possible answers carefully and choosing the right one. You have the opportunity to learn and correct your own pitfalls through the practice MCQs.
