AnonymousInactiveSeems like if you fail a section more than three times, it might be hard to get it ever. Don’t mean to be a naysayer, just a realist.
Good luck charms and happy thoughts only take you so far, in my opinion.

mena je twaMemberDeathorGLory…. This would never ever happen……StateBoards, NASBA, Prometric are all in this together. They have a vested interest in this. Keep taking the exams and keep giving us the benjamins…

AnonymousInactiveThe truth is the only number that counts is your license number. Having multiple attempts doesn't mean you aren't a good accountant, it really only means you suck at taking tests. I will be the first to stand up and say “Hi, my name is Kricket, and I suck at taking tests but I'm damn good at my job.”

AnonymousInactiveDid i just get referred to as a transsexual? Or is that “Tough S**t”? I don't mean to say that anyone is a bad accountant for failing tests. I just mean that, as an accountant, it seems like a bunch of money to spend on tests at $250ish a pop. I hope the increase in life earnings will outweigh the costs (Obviously, it will in the long run, but how much is the pain, sorrow, heartache, loss of fun, time, vacations, sleep, hair, blood, sweat, and tears worth? Also, not fun for the old cash flow).
Also…Very serious.

AnonymousInactiveSigh, I don't know what's wrong with some people. Deathor, do you enjoy making people feel shitty about themselves? I see someone who has multiple failures as someone who would be a better asset to a company than one who just passes each on the first time. What does passing on the first time mean? It means you're a good test taker and you had the time/were able to put in the time to get it done. Multiple failures and an eventually pass shows perseverance, motivation, and persistence. Accounting skills can be taught and looked up; a terrible attitude cannot be changed. I urge you to think about that next time you post a remark like that.

AnonymousInactiveWell, I respect that thought. I agree that perseverance is importance. And I was not trying to make anyone feel shitty. I proposed a question. I knew that it would be poorly received, but I wanted to know if anyone had considered it? Perhaps they could tighten the pass chances and loosen the “HOLY LORD SO MANY BOND QUESTIONS ON FAR FOR NO REASON” shit, maybe?
I was also just teasing a bit. We're all in this hellish cycle together. God speed, everyone.

Pain goes away
Sorrow fades
Heartaches heal
Loss of fun – fun is relative
Time marches on with or without a license
Vacations are usually distant memories in a split second
Sleep when you are done
Hair grows every second
Blood banks are full of it. I just got two pints a couple of years ago.
Sweat means you are working towards something not sitting still
Tears dry
Setting a goal, sticking to it and teaching your children that the only way to fail is to quit, well that's priceless and worth every penny I've spent and will spend. My son will never think of his mother as a quitter or willing to settle for second best. Life isn't necessarily about how much you make, it's about what you leave behind. My legacy will never be that of a failure. And neither will those like me who stick it out until the bitter end.

AnonymousInactiveAlso, Entourage:
“What does passing on the first time mean? It means you're a good test taker and you had the time/were able to put in the time to get it done.”
Yes. Yes it does. This job should be about commitment, skill, and the ability to be tested daily. The CPA Exam tests all of these aspects, not just acct. principles. Put in the time. RTFQ. Do the MCQ's. Repeat for a month. Gets you ready for the daily monotony of “high credentials”.
“Multiple failures and an eventually pass shows perseverance, motivation, and persistence.”
Yes, and often also shows stubbornness, dogmatism, and a lack of acceptance of new ideas or plans. It does show learning, strength, and bravery, tho, and plain ol' cussedness under fire, so, fair enough.
“Accounting skills can be taught and looked up;”
Not on test day. This is the CPA Exam we are talking about, right? š
“a terrible attitude cannot be changed.”
I had a much worse attitude 3 months ago, so I agree.
“I urge you to think about that next time you post a remark like that.”
My words are carefully considered, mulled, and formed in the dark tunnels of my mind before they hit the keyboard. I say only what I feel is needed at the time, or perhaps more than should be said ever, just to see what happens.
Seriously, tho, everyone. I really didn't mean to Troll y'all. This is just me blowing off steam and being pissed about FAR today. I hate this exam. It really doesn't mean you are a better accountant. It means we all fell for the plan. Gotta watch us accountants. Especially the ones at the top š

Mrs 300ParticipantYou are mulling over your thoughts and considering them carefully when you are posting to a website called “Another71.com?” A website that is about overcoming failures. Interesting……..
Pretty hard not to consider you a troll. Nice job trying to start contraversy. I hope that you pass all of your exams on the first try so that you don't need any help from us mere mortals in the future.
Good luck with the rest of your exams.
