Seeking Advice – Order of Re-takes

I am currently halfway there. I passed AUD and BEC last year and still need to pass FAR and REG. I’ve taken FAR twice and failed both times, a 74 last October and then a 71 in January. Frustrating. I took REG at the end of February and found out this morning that I completely bombed so I am looking for advice on how to proceed. My AUD credit will expire at the end of July so I basically have two more shots to complete the exam before I start losing credit.

What do you guys think? I am dedicated to passing before I lose credit and would like to re-take both sections in the April/May window. I was thinking of re-taking REG in mid-April but I am pretty disgusted by my score (in the 50s) so I’m not sure I want anything to do with that one right now. Try #3 for FAR doesn’t sound too attractive either at this point but I’m just looking for some suggestions on the order I should take them in. I’m using Gleim and NINJA as study material. Thanks!

I say take FAR and get it out of the way at the beginning of April since you were so close to passing the last two times.

Have you considered WTB for FAR/REG? For REG, the exam questions are very similar to the exam. CPA review for free notes are what helped me with the basis calc questions. Also, reviewing the 1040 and knowing where everything went – For AGI, etc. You may need more than 8 weeks though depending on the time you have to study. So, end of May may be cutting it close if you have a busy lifestyle.

    Florida:
AUD: 73, 81! Thank you Lord!
BEC: 73, 77! Thank you Lord! and WTB
REG: 71, 82! Thank you Lord! and A71
FAR: 72, 78! Thank you God and my Mommy in Heaven!

I would go with FAR since you came so close last time.

    BEC - 5/26/2013 75
    REG - 8/31/2013 82
    AUD - 11/24/2013 74, 2/9/2014 92
    FAR - 5/25/2014 85
