I went to try and schedule my exam for BEC and all locations near me have no available dates for this window. Ideally I would like to take towards end of this window. What do you guys and ladies do when you cannot find a test date but already started studying? Should I continue to study and hope for someone to cancel or wait until January and put studying on hault.

People cancel at the last minute all the time. Make sure to check a million times per day – that's what I have done. Also, you can try calling prometric to see what they recommend. I have called the folks at prometric for a variety of things, and they are always pretty nice. Good luck!

I second the people cancel, also Prometric increases capacity and hours based on demand. The 3 locations nearist to me in Portland and Eugene OR, are typically closed on Sundays and I think another day of the week but if demand is high they will add additional days or hours. I'd suggest scheduling as soon as something opens up and then rescheduling if a more desirable date becomes available. At least that's my plan, unfortunately there aren't any weekend days available in Dec like I'd prefer but I'm just going to schedule and call to find out if they are considering opening up some Sunday availability. Last time I was at Prometric I asked the girls what I should do to get a weekend day and they said to call Prometric and see if they have anything available that may not show online yet.

The best advice is to schedule your exams well in advance — currently, you may schedule your exam into next summer. In some areas, like Los Angeles, demand exceeds supply and many candidates ultimately travel to complete their testing. But if you scheduled in advance, you wouldn't have had to.

But, as mentioned, keep checking. People routinely cancel, Prometric often adds shifts and space that was reserved for other tests becomes available. For example, there's multiple testing centers in my area, but the one nearest me is reserved entirely for MCAT on MCAT testing dates (unfortunately for me, this includes most weekends). However, unreserved seats are released to other exams (e.g. CPA) as the testing date draws nears.

I checked for openings every day but ended up driving 6 1/2 hours to the nearest Prometric in a neighboring state with an open date for my last exam in Q1 2017.
