I passed FAR on 5/27/15. I just failed AUD and am taking BEC August 31st. I just started a new job at a CPA firm.

I’m really hoping I pass BEC Aug 31st. But I’m worried about the 18 month window. I don’t want to have to take FAR again. It expires Nov. 2016. We’re not allowed to take time off for CPA exams during tax season.

So hopefully I pass BEC, then re take AUD in October. If I passed that I’d feel comfortable because I’d only have one test left.

What’s everyone’s experience with having enough time to pass all 4?

Also, how did you explain to your cpa firm that you failed a test? It’s kind of embarrassing.

    FAR- 5/11/15 76!!
    AUD-10/31/15 63, 84!
    REG-7/12/16 72
    BEC-8/31/15 75!! Perfect Score!

Well, I'm not sure what your firm is like, but at mine (I work at a regional firm), they don't really keep tabs on whether or not any particular staff is passing certain exams. Obviously, the expectation is sort of out there that you should be working on it (at my firm you can't be promoted to manager unless you're a CPA)… but a LOT of people fail a couple of sections along the way, so I'm sure you're not alone.

I know there are people I work with that don't disclose to anyone that they're taking tests, so that they don't have to deal with others asking them if they passed or failed. That would be my advice… if you're afraid of feeling embarrassed, I just wouldn't tell people when you're taking them so you don't have to deal with that pressure. Then you can just tell them that you've passed after you actually pass them 🙂

It can definitely be a struggle to study during busy season… For REG, I studied through busy season and drove 2 hours to take my test at a Prometric that was open on Saturdays, since we weren't allowed to take time off to test during busy season. So, it's possible to do it. It's just difficult. I wish you luck though! Don't feel bad about failing… you're certainly not alone!

    REG - 86 (4/11/15)
    BEC - 92 (5/29/15)
    AUD - 99 (7/23/15)
    FAR - 89 (11/23/15) It's over!!!
