    Hi,

I have BEC in 10 days for the… 5th time (embarrassed!). Do you think it is time well spent rewriting the NINJA guide? Any words of advice would greatly be appreciated!

I've failed AUD twice now and am following Jeff's advice to the very letter. I can't say until after I get this score whether or not it really worked but I sure do feel like I am retaining the info better and my scores in the wiley testbank are absolutely improving by the combination of millions (almost) of MCQ's and rewriting my notes 3x so far.

    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

Thanks! I am going to spend today rewriting the guide then. I am hoping it helps because I am up against the mean clock of losing a section at the end of November!

mla how long does it normally take you to rewrite your notes?

well its supposed to be better to actually handwrite them, but I don't handwrite anything so I type them. I do 15 pages a night so its about 4 nights for me. Not sure how long it would take otherwise.

    @rmm91909,

It may take you up to a week, unless you can do non-stop writing marathon πŸ™‚

I also followed Jeff's advice and decided to rewrite Ninja notes, however I did skip some parts of Ninja notes here and there when I feel really comfortable with the concept, and in some cases I would go back to my own original notes or even Becker's text and add some extra notes if I feel it's necessary.

For financial management (chapter 3 in Becker) I made a list of all the formulas/ratios. If you are better with formulas than with verbal explanation, then this might as well work for you. If you know the theory behind each formula then you'll be able to handle both computational and conceptual questions with no problems.

    BEC - 10/12/2011 - 78
    AUD - 11/23/2011 - 84
    FAR - 02/22/2012 - 76 (I'll take it!)
    REG - 08/31/2012

Depends on how each person retains information. I haven't rewritten his ninja notes and managed to pass FAR & BEC. I've followed his other advice though. I retain information by doing MCQs. Everyone is different.

Thanks! I am trying to follow Jeff's pass the exam in 20 days guide because I risk losing audit on 11/30 and rewriting notes is part of that. I am just trying to decide if it is worth taking the time to rewrite them or keep doing MCQs instead.

YES…1000% yes….I would not have passed if I didnt rewrite the notes. I would first make notecards in question/answer format, and then rewrite the notes….whatever works for you, but definitely rewrite your notes about a week before the exam (it takes at least a week – especially REG and FAR)

I am sold! I am going to rewrite them by hand. I am thinking it will help even if it takes away time from MCQs. If I can have it done by Friday then I will have 5 days for multiple choice marathons πŸ™‚

Do you guys also watch all of the lectures in a row and then do the MCQ after like Jeff recommends? I have not done this yet and am thinking about it and wanted to see if anyone else is doing this and what they think about it?

    REG - Passed
    BEC - Passed
    FAR - Passed
    AUD - Passed

I have done it both ways and I find it more beneficial to follow Jeff's mindset. I know for myself when I would watch a lecture and then do questions I would get myself so hung up on getting things wrong right then and there that I would be rushing to get through the rest of the lectures as my test date approached. The other way of watching all the lectures always leaves me a lot more time to focus on MCQ. Just my opinion πŸ™‚

Absolutely rewrite notes. You retain more by writing them than by staring at them over and over.

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!
