Reviewing practice problems

I understand that when reviewing any practice problem we should understand why one answer choice is correct and why the other choices are wrong. However, how in depth should I be in reviewing the question? Should I rewrite the entire question and answer choices? Should I rewrite the explanation? Should I print out a copy of the question, answer, and explanation and review it from there?

Should I rewrite the entire question and answer choices? NO!

Should I rewrite the explanation? NO!

Should I print out a copy of the question, answer, and explanation and review it from there? Sure!

You should be able to explain to your imaginary friend (which i got one while studying) why the other 3 answers are wrong (some might be a completely “out there answers”). Rewriting takes to much time, I never had time as a luxury but speak to your imaginary friend and tell him or her why the other 3 answers are wrong and compare your reason to what the test bank says.

This is why i HATE!!! test bank answer that are like:

B is correct because of xxxxx and yyyyy.

A,C, and D, are incorrect per the above.

That is indicative of a POOR test bank. Your test bank should tell you A is incorrect because you thought X should be included in ……blah…. “C” is incorrect because you added this to this… “D” is incorrect because it uses some of the unimportant information that you should ignore…

If it's conceptual, I'd go back to my notes and make a brief addition to them on the concept that tripped me up.

If it's a calculation, I'd rework the calculation myself correctly with pencil and paper (more effective than just looking at the correct calculation).
