Review Material Question

I’m in the process of preparing to study for the CPA exam and had a question about study materials. I realize you should use the materials that match your teaching style the best, but it is hard to determine from looking at websites what the different companies excel at. For me, I think having the textbooks and a test bank would be sufficient, but I don’t know.

So, I guess I’m wondering if someone who has used multiple sets of materials can advise if they think one is superior and why? Are they really all the same? Am I naive in thinking I don’t need the “OMG YOU’RE GUARANTEED TO PASS!!!” package??

I seem to be leaning toward Becker, but I’m worried it is only because it is the one I’m most familiar with. I don’t know, though – paying that much money seems a little bit ridiculous. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

What have I gotten myself into?

do a google search— best CPA review courses…. I did that and then read each review and based on that— made my choice to go with Yaeger… I have read repeatedly that unless your company is paying for Becker– it is not worth the money… its nearly 4 grand and almost double that of Yaeger– which is similar results.

what is really important is HOW you learn… each of these offers a different method… so it's important to know what you woul d prefer… video's… audio – lectures.. etc… and I do believe a lot of people use several… mix and match…

What I DID not do however… was find out what test I should take first… THAT is also super important and a big mistake on my part.. since I am starting with BEC and it is horrible… I wish I had started with FAR and worked my way down the list to BEC… instead I am going backwards…

    Best of luck to you~
