So I’m starting my retakes now and just wanted to see how you all usually approach restudying. Do you re-watch the lectures? Or just read and do the homework problems again? Thanks!

Mamabear's story sounds like it is a third possible reason for a retake being harder– you study so hard that you kill testlet #1 and therefore get a difficult testlet #2? Something like that. Plus there's the basic every test is different theory, and you just happen to get a harder one on the retake.

I just worry, jrd, that the current plan only continues the same pattern you were on for all of your first tries, and therefore will yield the same result. I want you to give yourself the best chance of passing.

    AUD 84 (1/9/14-Wiley books/TB + free materials)
FAR 83 (5/21/14-the above + NINJA 10 Pt Combo Lite)
    REG 84 (7/9/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC/Notes)
    BEC 76 (10/5/14-Wiley books/TB + NINJA Audio/FC)

@kimboroni So do you think I should wait until next window or go ahead and give it all until the 28th?

Your plan of giving it everything you've got for the first week and then deciding sounds reasonable. Rescheduling will cost the same today as it will 6 days before the test, right? You should have a pretty good idea of where you are at that point.

I guess I also wonder what is different about your studying this time than the last time you took it. If you didn't change your studying, should you expect better results? I studied for my retake significantly better than the first take and I was also dual studying BEC and AUD at the same time originally because I had them scheduled only two weeks apart (dumb, I know).

CPA Exam - Finally DONE (November 2014)
    BEC (08/10/13) 80
    AUD (08/24/13) 65 (11/13/13) 85
    FAR (04/12/14) 81
    REG (07/19/14) 69 (11/29/14) 87!!

Yes the rescheduling fee would be the same 6 days out.

I didn't take any kind of notes last time around and rushed through everything just trying to get the Becker Promise. I also did not complete all of the sims. This time I am taking notes after reading the chapters and writing down everything I miss on the homework. I was weak in the area of sims last time so I am going to print the solutions out to those so I can really study them while I'm doing them.
