    Hey all,

    Material Becker/Wiley/Ninja Notes…….. Grade: 65

I have one part under my belt and just took reg to see I got a 65. I know many have felt the same way after failing but the worst part is knowing that I felt too confident going in. I am working and have a solid hour commute from and to work every day. During this time, I read the chapter over and over again. Plus, I add a couple of extra hours after work. I tally atleast 4-5 hrs daily and put atleast 10 hours on the weekend.

Moving forward, I am trying to take my exam Jan 3rd or 4th, which gives me about another month of study time. I so guess time is on my side. My only concern is I did alot of damage on Wiley and Becker’s MC and probably have memorized the question by now. My question is what am I suppose to do next?

-Having good notes along with MCQs and Sim practice helped me:

-Focus on CPA Legal Liability, Securities Law (1933/1934), Tax Procedure (penalties for both I/C filers), and Ethics (combine them in the study) [All together = 30% of the exam]

*If you have time, you can read Treasury Circular 230 and AICPA STSS in addition to the abridged info in your review books (if anything, it may help you fall asleep faster at night)

*This entire section mentioned above is often ignored, but it is extremely important.

-Entities Tax (Corporate and Partnership formation, operations, and liquidation–study this topic in the middle/end to keep it fresh)

    -BLAW and Individual Tax (Straightforward)

-Practicing Authoritative Literature (AL) and writing the section numbers beside common topics in a word doc = very helpful for me

*(For example IRC 102: Gifts/Inheritances–pick top 5 and make a list based on simulations for the IRC common sections)

-Simulation Practice = strengthens the foundation-Necessary (don't forget to practice this part)

    REG-84
    BEC-87
    AUD-74,99
    FAR-85

Know the three main taxes well – individual, partnership, and corporate tax. I always find it helpful to work the mcqs ad nasium till the concepts start to sink in and then go through all the sims a couple times. For REG I found the practice exams very helpful leading up to exam day. Have a good overall understanding of the concepts but don't worry about knowing every single thing. Good luck!
