I need to retake REG (73) and FAR (63). I just found out I missed REG. I currently have FAR rescheduled for 1-15. Do you think that since I missed REG by two points (close) that I should move REG to Jan and then schedule FAR after that? Not sure what to do. I am going to start studying hard as of 2:00 pm today. Don’t know if I should keep FAR where it is or move it to Feb. since I was so close on REG.

    Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Finish REG off the first week of January and then go back to FAR. You have a lot of the knowledge right now that you don't want to lose by switching back and forth.

Hmm … a very good point, too. I lose credit for BEC in Sept. and have to watch with tax season. Maybe REG in Jan and then FAR at the very end of FEB?

Yep…that's what I would do if I were you. I lose credit for BEC in Feb so I've got 2 more shots at REG and I'm praying that's enough. Good luck to us both!!

Thanks mamabear. Maybe that's what I will do then – move FAR and schedule REG. I already applied for my NTS for REG so I should have it within a day or two. Thanks again!

I also got a 73 on REG this window and I have been studying for FAR for 3 weeks. I currently have FAR scheduled 11/24. There is so much time between now and a REG retake in January. I feel like it would be a waste of time to review REG for 6 weeks (excluding holiday weeks). I was thinking about continuing with FAR and doing daily REG practice questions and note review to stay fresh then do a focused review right before the REG retake. Normally, I would agree with focusing on one exam, but I just don't think it makes sense in this case …

Yeah, but I got a 73 twice on REG so I'm thinking my full time and attention must be needed to it (well, aside from work and family, of course). I don't want to spend partial time on this and partial time on another section and get a 73 for the third time. Apparently I need to dive into this all the way for a few months and get it behind me.

I even know what it is. I actually keep passing the MCQ and losing points on the sims. 🙁

I disagree. 6 weeks is a normal amount of time for a retake. If you don't study as hard for the retake as you did for the original test then you're setting yourself up for failure. There have been a lot of people that regret trying to shortcut a retake because they assumed they didn't need the extra time since they had seen the test before. I can tell you from my two AUD tests that it was like a different test. None of the same topics were focused on and I'm glad I spent 8 weeks on the retake versus having to take it a third time. Be careful with your retake studying. Don't take shortcuts. You still need 75, not just 2 or 3 more points.

@ Hustle–I get it. I have been angry both times I failed and thought there was no way I could jump back into the same material, but so many people on here told me it was a mistake to move on until I had passed it so I decided to stick with each section until I passed, BUT that also means I typically only take 1 test per window and will use my entire 18 months. This approach isn't for everyone, but I have two windows left and only 1 test left so I'm hoping I made the right decisions. You do what you need to do. If you can fit FAR in this window then stick with it. It will be nice to go into the holidays with that beast under your belt! 🙂
