REG or BEC first?

Hey guys I need some advice. I just took AUD this week and scheduled to take FAR in July. I will be starting a new job right after I sit for FAR which is why I decided to take the 2 “hardest” exams first. I’m just trying to plan out the rest of the exams. I want to take one in August and the last one the beg. of October, as my NTS expires Oct. 9th. Do you suggest I take BEC before REG or vice versa? Yes, I paid for all 4 parts at once, oh well.

I thought FAR and REG were the two hardest?

I've always heard FAR and AUD were the toughest b/c they cover the most material and are 4 hrs as oppose to 3. I know this is all very subjective. So I will assume in your opinion REG is tougher than BEC.

I would agree that REG and FAR are definitely the most difficult. I spend the least time on AUD of all four.

    FAR 12/3/14, 87
    AUD 2/3/14, 90
    BEC 4/1/14, 88
    REG 5/27/14, 94

I've always heard FAR > REG > BEC = AUD in terms of the length of time you need to study for them. The BEC and AUD books are half the size of the FAR one, and starting the final review for AUD doesn't fill me with dread like it did for FAR.

At any rate, I don't think the order matters much. If I were you, I would probably do BEC just to avoid doing FAR and REG back to back. That sounds brutal.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

Can you guys shed some light on what makes REG more difficult? Is it the tax portion of it?

I am taking REG as my first test and i must admit it is BRUTAL. It might be because i am not a big fan of tax but its so much material and its not fun.

I am actually looking forward to taking FAR.

I moved my test two times.

    REG-77
BEC -Waiting on score May 5th
    AUD - May 30
FAR - Q3 depending on if i pass above two in Q2

REG is a monster. I felt the material for BEC was easier. Not easy; but easier.

“Can you guys shed some light on what makes REG more difficult? Is it the tax portion of it?”

Simply put; a lot to remember. Not inherently difficult stuff but just a lot of little bs to remember than can make or break an answer. I also found it extremely boring to study for.

    BEC - ✔
    REG - ✔
    AUD - ✔
    FAR - 11/29/14

CPAExcel, Ninja MCQs, and a sh*t ton of coffee

I can see students and or younger candidates having a tougher time with REG than with AUD. As a 40 year old, I have been filing detailed tax returns for decades. I also have business law / contracts experience. I think AUD has been the hardest, but I take FAR on Saturday. I have scored the best for FAR in the WTB, so I hope I can complete this journey.
