REG after FAR?

Am I crazy in thinking that hitting REG right after FAR is a good idea? From what I have seen these two sections require the most study time. FWIW, I passed FAR with a little under 8 weeks study using Becker and NINJA.

My plan is to take REG after about 6 weeks of study at the end of January. I will then take BEC at the end of February and finally AUD in the Q2 window. I start at B4 at the beginning of January in Audit. I am thinking I can get a lot of quality REG study time before I start and in the first few weeks because I will still be in training. Taking BEC next makes sense to me because it is less study time and getting another exam in for Q1 seems wise. I want to take AUD last because I figure more time on an actual audit engagement will only help the studying process.

    What do you guys think?

I think every part of your plan makes sense given your situation. I went REG right after FAR and didn't have any trouble. I am tackling AUD next and then going to try and cram BEC in before the busy portion really kicks off.

    FAR 10/18/14... 82
    REG 11/18/14... 87
    AUD 01/06/15... 71 Grrr 5/06/2015 ... 73 Doh 7/13/15 ... 69 Ack 11/18/15 ... 86!!!
    BEC 02/07/15... 79

Cool thanks for the response. Will there be any issues with taking REG in Q1 in regards to changing tax law? Should Becker already be updated or will the exam reflect 2014 law?

Tax law changes don't go into effect until July, so you're good. Congrats on the FAR score!

Thanks Gabe. I didn't feel horrible when I left the room so I thought that was a bad thing! Hope you did well too.

You guys have convinced me.. just ordered the Becker REG book and will be purchasing the NTS shortly!

I think it's smart to do REG next if you have the momentum. Knock out the big guys first. Congrats on FAR!

I did REG after FAR. I did it in that order because I like to do things from hardest to easiest. However, there is a lot of crossover between FAR and AUD.

    FAR - TBD
    REG - 90 Q4 2014
    AUD - 95 Q4 2014
    BEC - TBD Q1 2015
