I understand that it can be demoralizing when you fail a section of the CPA exam especially when you feel good after taking the exam and leaving the testing center feeling confident only to find out a few weeks later you failed.
You have to understand that if you quit now you will NEVER become a CPA. Not only that, but you will also have wasted all that time, energy, and money.
When I took the BEC and REG, I got scores of 64 and 71 respectively. I couldn’t dwell on it too much. I knew I had to pass. What really motivated me was the fact I hated my job which is retail. I knew that I was smarter, more intelligent, and more talented than what I was doing at my job. Not only that, but is was stressful, low pay, and there was so much incompetence that you have to put up with.
The other thing I also understood is that I am working towards a brighter future for myself. While some people at my work are content to stay where they are, candidates like us, understand that the CPA license opens up a world of opportunities. You can do a lot of things with the license and you will also be one of the few highly regarded professionals.
I look at it as Potential Future Revenues, Cash Flows, and Lots And Lots of Billable Hours.
All of you candidates will be future CPA’s. You won’t be a CPA if you quit now. Not only that, but you have to think about what you will be missing.
What you guys need to do is to find out what motivates you. Then use that motivation to your advantage to pass the CPA exam. I.E. it could be not liking your job or continually getting passed over for the promotion.
One thing i know for sure though is “QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION”. All of you have gone this far, so why quit now?
