Hi everyone. This is my first post on these forums. So I am taking the FAR section of the exam on August 9th, and started my studies on June 20th with about 20-25 hours of studying each week using Rogers CPA Review and the Wiley books. I am wondering which section would be the easiest and quickest section to study for so that I could be most prepared to take another section at the end of August? I know REG is out of the question, so basically my question is: Is BEC or AUD easier? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!

What are your favorite classes in school?

If you liked your finance and economics classes then BEC will be easier.

If you enjoyed your audit classes, the audit will be easier.

If you are a tax whiz, and love business law then REG will be easier.

    AUD - Jan 9,13 Pass
    REG - Aug 30,13 Pass
    BEC - Oct 26,13 Pass
    FAR - Dec 4,13 Pass

Jennifer said it really well go with your strength.

Everyone has a different section that is easy or hard for them. Some people take audit first try and pass others struggle with it. Honestly it's all personal preference and strong areas… For me they have all been hard and needed 150% of my effort….

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Thanks for the replies! I did enjoy my finance and some econ classes so I'm going to go ahead and schedule the BEC section, and also since the BEC book is about half the size of the other books ^.^ Good luck to everyone else!

none of them are quick or easy. based on how i did on them, i would say that BEC is easier than AUD. but for others that is not the case. just study your a$$ off

    FAR - 1/26/2012 - PASSED (78, but Lost credit), re-do 11/27/2013 - PASSED (87)!
    AUD - EPIC FAIL, 71, 69; 68; 5/25/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    REG - 10/1/2012 - 72; 7/1/2013 - 73 UGH, 10/1/2013 - PASSED (85)!
    BEC - 2/28/2013 - PASSED (82)!
    Licensed CPA!

Used Becker self-study materials (just this for FAR original & REG #1), WileyTestBank, NINJA notes/audio, and Roger cram course for AUD #5, REG #3 & FAR reboot. CPA!

I'm going to to BEC after FAR, I'm hoping it will be easier just based on the smaller book size, less time needed to get through the materials. I'm roughly using Roger's 6 month plan. I think he allocated 3 weeks to BEC. I'll have a little more. If all goes as planned I think I'm going to do REG next and then AUD. I think REG will be more challenging for me than audit.

    FAR - 7/13 - 72, 11/13- 74, 2/14- 82!!! Best score ever (for me)!!!
BEC - 1/14 - 75!!! Perfect score! First Pass! YAY!!!
    AUD - 8/14 - 80!!!
    REG - 5/14 - 72, 10/14 - 66, 1/15 - 78 - DONE FOREVER!!!
I did 5 of the UNA and CPAExcel classes to earn units.

I personally thought BEC was the “least difficult”. But I was also an ECON major in undergrad. I agree w/ others, do whatever you're most confident in.

    IL
    FAR (2/20/13): 76
    AUD (4/8/13): 78
    BEC: (5/20/13): 86
    REG: (7/10/13): 76
    Ethics: Done
Operation "Hurry up and pass this thing before we have our first baby in October" COMPLETED
