I seems to learn better and retain more knowledge when doing question practice than reading the textbook eg Wiley Textbook. So I tried this approach on a topic that I had not read from the textbook but rather went straight to the wiley test bank in practice mode and try to answer the questions and I was understanding the topic after the first 40 questions practice, for the next not seen 40 questions I scored very high marks on it. So I began to question myself if It worth all the time to read the whole textbook with its confusing points instead of just concentrate on practice questions and study not memorize the answers to all the wiley Test Bank questions .What is the risk to this approach ? ie not reading the textbook concepts but rather using the practice questions to study .

I find that listening to the lectures, then doing the questions, then reading the textbook helps with the information. After doing the questions works better for reading the textbook because the book is just reiterating what you have learned by doing the questions.

I think it depends on your learning style. I've seen from using the Wiley Textbook that they give pretty thorough explanations in the answers to the MCQs so if you understand the concepts after doing the questions and going over the answers, you might be okay. I've heard of people doing it that way. Personally, I know that I learn the best when I read so I read the whole chapter and take notes on it before I even look at the MCQ. It gives me a baseline. You have to find out what works for you.

    REG - 85
    AUD - 99
    FAR - 89 - w/ NINJA Audio and Blitz
    BEC - 91

Using Wiley - books and test bank - 6 months - all 4 first time
