Anyone up for a power weekend this weekend? I am way behind on my studying and really need to get in close to 20 hours between Friday and Sunday. I worked that much the last three weekends so I should be able to do it. I am in the process of reading the Wiley book, so my goal for the weekend is to read and do MCQ on at least 3 topics and really learn them, (hoping to get in 5) but i guess that depends if i am understanding the topics!

Anyone else up for a power weekend?

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

Sorry, I struggle a bit with variance analysis as well……BTW Jeff's explanation has been a LOT better than Becker's convoluted over complicated system.

I have just worked those particular problems slowly and tried to work many of them…..I think with enough practice they will start to be faster and start to click.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, I will let you know if I find something that gives me the “ah-ha” moment 🙂

@Determined CPA – How do you do the re-writing? Word for word, looking back and forth from notes to botes, or do you read a line or concept and rewrite in your own words?

Well I've listened to the audio so many times that I know what the next line says. It's sad. I usually write line for line but for BEC I incorporate things. For example, writing that supply goes down when this happens means NOTHING to me, so I might add a chart in so that it makes sense to me and it isn't just words. I really do find it helpful. I probably wont re-write the international part, just read it a few more times.

Even with the ninja tho, the variance analysis is too vague for me and i'm not understanding it.

    A - 75
    B - 78 God is good.
    F - 77 Answered prayers.
    R - 84! Done!!

Paperwork sent - waiting for license!!
Still on a cloud and in shock. Through God, all things will happen.

Bernhardt…I'm in the same boat as you…my wife and daughter will be going to a Luau (sp?) so it is just me and my little boy (just made 2). As long as he's fed and has his cars/trucks he's good. Thinking about buying one of those mini camel packs for him and just strapping it to his back….lol….jk. My plan of attack is MCQ and audio for the next two weeks!!! Good luck guys!!!

Yep, I'll be joining you guys. I'm taking FAR a week from today. The last time I took it, I failed with a 64 even though I felt really prepared although now that I'm restudying, I know that I was not at all prepared because I had skipped important material. But, when I failed that section, I decided I was done with the CPA Exam & Accounting in general- I actually applied for grad school in teaching and was going to become an elementary school teacher. Luckily I got my ass in gear and decided that I was going to pass the CPA Exam and wasn't going to let this section make me feel like I needed to get out of accounting. So, I HAVE to pass this thing next week!

AUD: PASSED [81]; Expired, retaking August 23rd
BEC: PASSED [83]; Expired, retaking July 11th
    REG: PASSED [83]
FAR: FAILED [64]; Retaking May 23rd
