    Ok who’s in with me? I’m going to incorporate Jeff’s ELL Tax Season plan starting with this weekend. With that said, I’m planning on working today. I have a big box I need to get through. Once I done with that I’m going to start re-writing NINJA notes and working on MCQs. It’s going to be interesting since hubby’s working today and I have the kids to myself. Here goes nothing. My plan, to get in at least 6 hours this weekend.

    Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

    I'm in! Plowing away now at MCQ's. Shout out to Baseballcpa for suggesting that I check out Pomodoro..I've been using it too. As soon as my 25 mins are up, I check this site. Is it me or is this site so addicting?! Haha!

    I'm extremely nervous about this FAR retake. I felt more prepared the first time around. 🙁

    I feel like I'm getting ready to have my a$$ handed to me on a plate.

    Happy studying everyone!

    @Peanut,

    Ok, it wasn't great, but here it is:

    1st testlet 76

    2nd testlet 76

    3rd testlet 63

    I pretty much crashed and burned in the last testlet (guess I am a bit tired) due to the : least likely, except for type questions. I missed it on 4 questions. I did ok on the sims. I am going to leave the library early and eat some food (skipped lunch) and then do a test in Wiley, review notecards in Becker 4 and 5 and hit the hay. BTW, the career coach was interesting. Have you ever done that before? I had a free meeting with him, I would like to continue but he is expensive. My sister in Chicago uses the “Chicago Job Network” which is part of “Meet Ups” and is invaluable. I am only mentioning that because it seems like bigger cities have more of an organized job network than smaller metro areas. I don't have any near me ;(

    She goes to meetings that are head up by a career coach/counselor and they do resume critiques, LinkedIn upgrades, networking–too many to list. People in the groups share contacts, etc….all free. FYI for when you begin your search. I wish I could afford the career counselor! I may just have him redo my resume. It was amazing all the little comments he made on mine. He also offered so many suggestions/criticisms on questions/answers on interviews. Some I was surprised at. BTW @ Peanut and Rmm91909…I love the Boston area. I love the Northend of the city. Some of the best Italian food. And I love the history. Cool place to visit. I have family in Hingham.

    Hope everybody got a ton done today.

    Yankee –

    I'm feeling better. Still a little dizziness and can't really hear well out of my right ear. Hopefully it'll pass soon.

    I cleaned my kitchen and dining room (I found them again!!! :)) Now I'm going to take a quick shower then sit down and rewrite Jeff's NINJA notes while the little one naps.

    @Yankee, that's great for those Becker final exams! Looks like you're ready to rock this week. I know what you mean by losing your steam when you get to that third testlet. In the actual exam I usually have more adrenaline, but I crap out on the practice exams. I've never done a career coach before. What kinds of things did you go over? I should look into something like that over here, wouldn't hurt!

    @CashEquivalents, take a few days off before you approach the next beast! It'll be good for you. My brain always goes through a “brain dumping,” after each exam. Your brain needs it–so drink away haha

    @JoMarie, glad to see you're feeling better!

    ok, weekend is almost over……can't seem to get past 80% on Wiley. I wish I could get past it at least once. I don't want to take the second Becker Final….I think so close to exam day, I might just ruin whatever mojo I have left. Since that is a big hurdle for me on exam day, I am going to keep doing the regular exams in Becker and Wiley. I did the AICPA exam today-geesh, what a false sense of security that test is. I know it is so much harder than that sample test….those AICPA guys are pretty snarky!! lol!

    @Peanut,

    I have to go back to my notes, but he just pointed out alot of things on my resume that he didn't like. He advocates more of a “personality” driven resume. That way the skillset and qualifications are the highlight, he has alot of marketing background, so he is big on selling yourself. I actually have my year I graduated college—maybe I am the last person on the planet to still have that on their resume, but he pointed out that as a big mistake. Since, I quit my job to sit for the CPA, I had some typical statements I used for interviews to relay that fact and he basically torn them to shreds. For now, I will have him redo my resume, I will probably do 2 resumes: one experience driven and one personality driven. I think you could google “chicago job network” and then from there try and find the groups in the city near you. You could get alot of free advice and help.
