    Well this week I’m doing something different. Usually when I set myself certain amount of time to study, it doesn’t happen, so I’m going to continue working on mini tests all week and maybe try to get through all topics on Wiley at least once. I am planning a day off today since it’s my birthday. I have not taken a day off totally from studying in who knows how long. I usually just try to study whenever I have a chance.

    Have a good week everyone!!

    Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

    Good morning all! I'm getting an earlier start today since work got the best of me yesterday so I only got in about an hour of studies. My stress levels are through the roof! I'm hoping this morning's study session will give me a boost. I'm kinda in the dumps this week.

    @JoMarie

    I know, I feel the same way. I wish I found Roger right from the get go!

    @Acct

    IMO, he gives a ton of detail. His crams are so informative for a cram. I feel like he is still teaching rather than reviewing. And to boot, he is energetic. That is something completely lacking in Yaeger and Becker, IMO. The study guide/book that accompanies the cram is nicely written. Great review to each section.

    @KasiaS,

    We are two peas in a pod—dumpy week indeed. But the end is in sight–keep your eye on the prize!

    Didn't get much done at all yesterday(dumpy day for me), so I am going to go all out–balls to the wall–all day and thru the evening. Hope everybody has a great study day.

    @Acct – I agree with Yankee. I feel like he's teaching rather than reviewing. With him I'm starting to feel the love of accounting again, like I did back when I started college. He reminds me of my college professors, well the good ones, not the boring ones.

    Thank you!

    I found other threads discussing this also…I ordered the Roger cram for BEC. I had also ordered the Wiley online test bank a few days ago…I hope I have enough time to go through all of this after I finish going through things with Becker…but anything (or almost anything) that will have me pass BEC this quarter with the time I have left until the exam, I'm willing to try…I've also got a big paper due for college so my studying time is now further limited…

    Good luck studying!

    Thanks, again.

    My dumps have reached the summit. Between my migraine, severe lack of sleep, stress, pressure at work, and fear of REG, I finally cracked. I came home, ate dinner and broke down, tears and all, right at the kitchen table in front of my parents. Of course, they are trying to console me but they don't fully understand why the mental breakdown.

    I'm physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. I'm going to sleep and hope to wake in a better state of mind. I hope you guys are doing better than this hot mess over here. Here's to a hopefully happy Friday.

    Been there, done that. Take the night off, have a nice hot bath or shower, watch your favorite tv show, and get a good night's sleep. That's what works for me.

    I am sorry, KasiaS. We can empathize/sympathize and unfortunately, many have been there. Jomarie's suggestions sound great.

    You know the quote, “When you hit rock bottom, the only way is up”? That concept has helped get me through some not so easy times. Tomorrow is another day, and hopefully a much better one for you.

    You can do this and pass the CPA exam once and for all! We're rooting for you!

    I was going to post a couple of videos here, but instead put them on the motivational videos thread.

    @ KasiaS, trust me you have not been the only person to have a breakdown. Sometimes having a breakdown helps to release a lot of stress you have built up and have not expressed. Hang in there, this is your last one and you will never have to see another CPA Exam book anymore!!!..

    Thanks everyone. After I posted here, I fell asleep almost immediately and didn't wake until an hour ago. My head still hurts a little and I don't really want to face the day, but I'm keeping with Acct's quote that now, things should start looking up. I do feel like I reseased some serious steam that had built up in me since I started this CPA journey. I suppose I wasn't stressing “properly” since I'm always the one who keeps it together and holds others up.

    Now I'm hoping to get through work without incident.

    @KasiaS

    Let off steam here, whenever you need to. We have all been there in some fashion, at some point on this journey. I am hoping that your day at work goes without a hitch!. At least you have a weekend (hopefully) without any work—just cpa studying! You CAN do this!

    hey everybody

    got alot done yesterday…surprised myself I did about 350 mcq's! But I worked a long time yesterday. I am in the 72-75 range, so not where I need to be. I have to get down accounting reports and the (dreaded) transaction cycle–I know I can do it. I feel the push (only 5 days of studying)…and I am channeling that Rocky music in my brain. Yo Audit–I am going to go the distance this time!!!

    Hope you guys have a great study day.

    Hope things are going to be looking up for you!

    @Yankeeaccountant

    That's great!!

    Now I know what you mean by the Rocky music 🙂

    So I pushed myself until about 2:30am last night (morning) but at that point I was drifting off a couple of times on the same page in the review book, so I just called it a night (or is that a morning?). Hoping to get a few hours in today!

    Good luck studying, everyone!
