    @mylifeiscpa

    Thanks again!

    @hustlinhustlin

    lol! “balls stuck to the freakin walls” love the rendition! Good luck with FAR.

    @Rmm91909

    I really liked the cram in comparison to the course. I felt like Yaeger's course was a bit long. The cram was more concise and to the point. I say go for it if you can.

    @marivy

    congrats!!! I am pulling for you on FAR. Glad you had the day with your hubby and son. I used Becker for BEC and thought it was good. I also used their flashcards. Some people have said that they like to print out the notes to each chapter from the software and use them to make additional notes when they are listening to the lectures……just thought I would throw that out there!!

    @Peanut

    Agreed!

    @Cashequivalents

    I hated R1. All the b-law made my head spin.The tax material was great, the law , not so much–at least for me!!

    Well here I am just sitting down to rewrite more of the NINJA notes. Kids are in bed and hubby's watching tv.

    @firsttimecharm – my day starts at 5am. I woke up at 6:30am, just enough time to have a cup of coffee, make lunches, get the girls up, have breakfast, and be out the door by 8am. Well, I was out of the door by 8:15 this morning and was 5 minutes late for work. Ugh!! At least they understand that I have a 45 minute drive into the office.

    Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....

    @yankee so if you could make it work in two weeks you would go for it? I am thinking it will be a good refresher to listen to it but not sure if my time would be better spent focusing on MCQs only.

    @rmm91909

    Well, I think the best situation would be to do a combo of both. I certainly wouldn't stop doing mcq's, for FAR, it is really good practice to go through the calculations. I forgot how long the Yaeger cram is……maybe 20 hours. I know it is less than half of the regular course, it is still a chunk of time. Are you set on the Yaeger cram? do you have the cram from Roger? Just asking since I think his might be shorter, which might be helpful, that way you could spend more time on getting more mcq's out of the way. The last time I took FAR, I studied for 3 weeks. I used the Yaeger cram. I took small progress tests of twenty –that made things seem less taxing on my brain. I would do that in one area until I consistently scored 80% or better, then I moved on to the next section. I am pretty sure I listened to the whole cram first, then went back and did the problems. I also made a list of 10 things that confused me. In that list I made a cheat sheet for each item and reviewed it each day, and then rewrote it each day. The list kept morphing in the last two weeks because after rewriting those things I started to get them in my head. I will try and find my post again from when I took FAR..maybe there might be some tips that would help you. Keep going…you can do it!!

    @JoMarie

    I did the rewriting last time, and it helped a ton. This time I only wrote half the notes….crossing my fingers!! I do think if you have time that rewriting notes is sooo helpful.

    Between last night and this morning I've rewritten about 9 pages of the NINJA notes and did 2 mini tests of 20 MCQs each. On the mini tests I've scored 75 and 70. Hoping to get back the 80 mark by Feb 1st!!

    Thanks Yankee!!! I am stuck on the yaeger one where I have it already. I might push my exam out one week to allow myself to watch it and do the teslets of 20 like you suggested. This being sick this week was not part of my plans at all!!

    Hey guys,

    Feeling a bit knocked around from my bout with Audit. Getting a bit of that “testers remorse”, too bad it isn't like buyers remorse…because I would try and return it!! Damn those sims. Well, today I start back on REG, hmmmmmm, this feels so familiar. Kinda like “Groundhog Day”. Anywho, going to start with reading the book and taking notes. Going to read Roger's full course book. Thought I would share a quote that is helping me move on with my “testers remorse” :

    “Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

    Have a great study day, finish strong!!!

    @yankeeaccountant, so no time off in between? =/ Are you going to try and fit REG in at the end of February? Also, I'm convinced if your SIMs were brutal on AUD it means you passed!! Love the quote you posted

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    Yep, right on with REG, I have it scheduled for 2/18. That is a bit tight, but I can move it out if I need to. I hope you are right. Funny thing is, I have no sense of objectivity. The sims didn't seem crazy hard, all were drop down menu types, but the way some questions were worded, it wasn't always clear as to what they wanted, I could interpret things many ways. I don't feel solid on any of them except the Research. Got lucky, it was a super easy one.

    How is Audit going for ya? I had so many lightbulb moments each time I studied for it. There are so many nuances that seemed to come to light.

    ok, time to make the donuts!!

    That's kind of how it is for me this time around! Things I couldn't seem to grasp last time, are coming very quick and easy to me this time. I really need to buck up and pay for a new NTS ehh. It does seem tight between your test dates, but you've done REG before right? So you shouldn't necessarily need a large amount of time. You got it this time!

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

    @yankee – I love your quote!

    Today I will be staying home from work, I live in the Pacific Northwest and our weather has been worse than we are used to, I have been working from home for the last two days but today I am just going to take the day off and fill my day with Pomodoros of AUD studies.

    Good luck to you all today. 🙂

    @Pacific

    Looks like you are getting Chicago-like weather!! That is great that you have the opportunity to work out of the house. Love that flexibility. I am going to go out on a limb here, seems like there is a disturbance in the force….I could be wrong, could be that “old lady” syndrome. I see that you have set Audit for 2/17. You can do this. Don't let the worries of passing/not passing or anything else get in the way of what you are trying to accomplish. This process is grueling and puts tremendous pressure on our sense of self. I am saying this to you as well as reminding myself. You have a thread full of people who have your back.

    Seriously, to me, the questions are totally doable, I saw quite a few of mine in Becker and Wiley. If you do all the Becker and the Wiley -that is great coverage. The sims, well, I still don't know how to maneuver them. But you have to bring that attitude that you can do it….and then you will.

    Have a great study day…hopefully your dogs are helping you!! Birdy (my dog) is my study buddy..couldn't do it without him.

    Have a great day…..

    B1!?!?!

    I am just starting with BEC material using Becker, and I was just wondering how I can possibly answer correctly those 100+ questions on the Costing section……… I am trying, but this will take a while. I have 70 to complete tonight and I will be done with B1.

    I am ok with the rest of the chapter, let's see how it goes…

    Done 😉
    Class of 2012!!!!
    Lots of prayers and hard work....
