    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley

    @Peanut

    My plan of attack is really the same as my previous sections.

    Step 1: I watch the lectures taking notes and arranging things in an outline type format like:

    Accounting for Stock Investment

    * Stock percentage is less than 20% – Cost Method

    Dividends booked as dividend income

    Income on the Income Statement ignored

    * Stock percentage is 20-50% – Equity Method

    Dividends booked as reduction to Investment

    Income on the Income Statement recognized as income on prorata basis

    NOTE: Don't recognize losses below level of original investment.

    * Stock percentage > 50% – Consolidated Statements

    etc.

    Step 2: I read the book, adding to my notes if necessary, although generally my book goes into too much detail and I've learned that if it's not covered in the MCQs I probably don't need to know it anyway.

    Step 3: I do MCQs, adding to my notes any exceptions and quirks I learn about in the answer explanations. As I'm going through MCQs, I take a screenshot of the question, answer, and explanation of the ones I missed or guessed on. I paste this into a Word document and review it before I sit. (my software won't let me copy and paste text)

    Step 4: If I have time, I do the sims, and add any further exceptions to my notes.

    I just go through questions once. Then I just memorize my notes. This time, I'm going to try to make it a habit to print out my notes every day and add them to my stack and read the notes every night before bed. I'm hoping this helps with memory retention and will mean less time memorizing right before the exam. I know it sounds like a lot to memorize, but by the time I'm through I might only have 50 partial pages of notes, and most of it is just review or common sense. I use a highlighter on the portions I need to concentrate on (for example, for NFP colleges vs hospitals, what is considered income) and hit that right before the exam.

    Hmmmmm. I think I vote Katie takes REG for me next week ;P

    @ katie, awesome process……many talents you have: writer, CPA, maybe add CPA Review Company to the list?!

    ~~~~~~~
    I worked all the Ind Tax problems today, went much faster than Corporate. I guess that tells me I need to work more on Corp Tax! Now going to work about 50 more mcq's and then reread notes and then bed. Hope you guys had a good one.
    @JoMarie
    Great post this morning!!
    I am in serious need of guidance………….I am now working on progress tests, and I have printed more MCQ's from Becker software than never before. Between yesterday and this morning, I have been working on B1-B3 only, will work B4 and B5 separately……..my scores on the progress tests 70's. I guess I will follow Jeff's recommendation of nonstop MCQ's and will take additional notes in the process. I am comfortable with the theory, but some of the calculations uuugghhh…
    Is it me, or this material is all over the place…. OMGOMGOMG AAAAHHHHH!!!!!
    I will be working with Becker until next Tuesday, and then will add Wiley.
    Done 😉
    Class of 2012!!!!
    Lots of prayers and hard work....
    @Yankee
    I believe my particular writing deficiencies are legendary (and I really AM working on it, it's just so difficult for me to realize I've left out parts that people who can't read my mind need in order to make sense of what I've said), but I HAVE thought about CPA Review materials editor. Not seriously of course, because this process is so incredibly life-sucking that I want to get done and never look back, but I just don't understand why people who do this for a living don't arrange the material in a logical manner and/or plan out what they're going to say and the order they're going to say it in in a lecture.
    Exactly right, Katie. Show up…hit record…no editing. It wastes your time.
    Jeff! I was SO not talking about you. I haven't actually heard any of your lectures. I was talking about Bob Monette, whom I love, but sometimes he jumps around so much I have to go backwards and forwards in my notes and it's so inefficient. When you pay $2,000 for materials, you'd think he'd put a little more planning into it!
    I was actually being serious. you have a great way of pulling a visual of out your descriptions. and to boot, they are usually pretty funny references.
    In terms of the CPA review. I think you are methodical….maybe even beyond methodical. Seems like that could totally benefit the world of CPA Review.
    ~~
    just getting going today. I have about 6.5 hours to go!!! balls to the walls! hope you guys are having a good one.
    I have to say, this week I have studied harder than I have in a while. I also am kicking some serious booty on the BLaw section. I am still not doing so hot on tax though. A little over 2 weeks left!! WOOHOO!! haha not.
