In honor of JoMarie, I thought I would start a power week thread.

My goal today through Friday is to get through the material. I need to start my final review Sat so that I have a full weekend and week before my exam on Sat, the 25th. I normally sit on Mondays, but we can’t take time off work Aug-Oct for budgets, so a Saturday will be interesting.

I plan to study the majority of today and will do the ELL plan this week. Early and lunch Monday, Wed, Friday. Late Mon-Fri.

akb9874 – I have been reviewing a lot of the questions I have been missing on the Progress test for Becker and others. I have been getting low scores on F2, F5(Bonds & Leases), & F6 (Pensions & income Tax). The other chapters I have gotten in the 75+ area. So I will definitely be hitting those areas hard as well as re-reading those chapters.

I am hoping these are going to be my last couple of weeks studying for good. FAR is it for me as well. Good Studies Everyone!

I still have Governmental, NFP and Consolidations to review. I have just started to get in the 70's on my reviews for the other sections. I feel confident this coming week of review will bring those numbers up. I am taking two days off before exam which will help!

@MyLife,

Sounds like we have similar weak areas! Governmental and NFP will be failry easy for me to bump up, just have to review the information. That is one section I have consistently gotten Comparable or Stronger on every time I have taken it. The PV (bonds, pensions, leases) is by far my weakest. I suck at simulations too. Not sure why but I never score well on those. I decided to practice one every time I take a quiz. I guess it is just lack a familiarity mixed with knowing I struggle with them.

I take BEC on Sunday, the 26th!! I am freaking out…but am pretty much focusing on my flash cards, printed review text, and TONS of MCQ's!! I will be non-stop studying for the next 10 days!

I am taking FAR on the 25th also. I have about 2 hours of lecture to finish tonight, then a week to review. Any suggestions of how to make the most of my review time? I'm thinking I can realistically get in at least 40 hours of studying by the exam.

How should I approach this? I know I don't have time to do all of the mcq's in Becker. I also have ninja notes. Any suggestions would be awesome!

@kristen,

Although I have not passed FAR (and maybe shouldn't be advising anyone on it) I would do the following:

Read your Ninja Notes and Personal Notes very thoroughly

Take a practice exam

Analyze what areas you struggled on and start hammering out MCQ testlets for a day

Rinse and repeat.

Mini power week here…AUD on Monday (20th). Off of work until then and sending the family on a trip. Nothing but audit reports and internal control for me this weekend. Currently running about 74% correct on my problems, and really worried I need to pick that up.
