I got my score report back and received stronger in multiple choice and weaker in sims. I thought I did better in sims, but I was wrong. Anyways, I saw that you posted somewhere that you received a similar score report and wanted to ask how you have been studying for the sims. Also, can you recommend a good source for studying journal entries? I was thinking an accounting textbook might be good. Hope your studying is going well and that we both pass AUD next month!

Hi Tootsie!! This is my score report. I don't even know what to think about it! It's basically telling me I did stronger than passing candidates in pretty much every category but the SIMs ate me alive! I completely went through Becker again, lectures while taking notes, MCQs, SIMs, then moved through all the Wiley MCQ & SIMs. Now I don't really know what the heck to do! I have 3 more weeks until my exam July 3rd. I'm rereading all the Becker chapters now. I've been told to buy the cpareviewforfree SIMs online, so that's going to be my next move. I have the Wiley book that has a bunch of SIMs and some MCQ I didn't hit last time so I'll work that too. Doing MCQ over and over obviously isn't going to help me…. that's what I did last time and it just makes me rock the MCQ but nothing else.Errr! I actually whipped out my old college Auditing book. For journal entries, they are usually pretty basic on the exam, but you could try flipping through your FAR book. Journal entries come naturally to me, I always just remember a DR. Increases an asset or expense account, a CR. increases liability and revenue. Boom! Wiley has some J/E SIMs too that are good practice. What's your plan of attack?

@hawkmante, they told me it can take up to 48 hours. Ha yeah my score report…. I forwarded the email with my score report to Jenu, and his reaction was “WTF Did you get punked?!!?” haha

@Tootsie, I never practiced any JEs when I took AUD because they also come natural to me, (I had to take it 2 times btw, ugh) I agree with Peanut, if there ever were any JE simulations for AUD, I would imagine they are basic adjusting/reversing/correcting entries…maybe just fresh up on your DR/CR knowledge?

@hawkmante, that's what my score report looked like for my first 72. Then I pulled everything up to stronger, and still got a 72. Veryyyy interesting. What is your plan of attack??

I'm going to keep doing MC questions and studying flash cards, reviewing NINJA notes, and I may purchase the Sims from CPA review for free. I think it would really help if I move quickly through the MCQ and save time for the Sims and research every question. The score report really does not help me at all.

@Peanut – Did you say you were sticking to Becker this time around? Or are you using Yaegar as well? I think you should trust Becker..you're in good hands! Never a bad idea to supplement with Wiley though, I already bought it for REG – per your recommendations…so glad we are facebook friends lol

Hi everyone, I have been reading the text, doing multiple choice questions, reviewing the AUD Ninja notes, and using a voice recorder! 🙂 The Ninja notes and voice recorder are two new things I've been using to study.

I guess I shouldn't be too worried about journal entries. I understand the basic DR and CE. I will definitely take a look at the FAR book. Regarding sims, I think getting really used to the authoritative literature tab is best. I used it previously with Becker sims but maybe not as much as I should have.
