With my new job and 4 exams in 3 months, It has been exhausting. Keep your motivation up!
Initially I just wanted to take all of them at least, failing or passing.
I barely knew anything when I started, but forum has been very helpful and that helped me a lot. I hope I can do the same for other people as well.
I mainly used ninja mcq + supplemented with Wiley CPAExcel (cheap book everyone knows about)
I go straight to mcq without reading, because my times are limited and I hate reading. figured if I am aiming for 75 I truly do not need to know everything.
I did not want to buy a review course. Granted it would been easier with review course but I did not think I needed one and wanted to save some $.
In all, I have 2 down on my belt now. FAR and BEC
FAR – Studied for 1.5-2 months (was overseas for 3 weeks and was not that motivated..). Probably put inefficient mid- 100 hour. Pretty much spent time doing on doing mcq.. not much for sim/JE. Testing: It was not easy, but I was pretty sure I passed it. And I did.
AUD – Studied for 1 month putting about 60-70 hours. When I took the exam I felt kind of felt I did little worse in FAR thinking that I did okay on mcq but poorly on sim. It actually turned out to be the opposite; comparable on sim, but weaker on mcq. I still think I should have passed this one.. restudying at the moment.
REG – Studied for 1 month putting about 60 hours. I was exhausted at that time and also was out for 1 week for work travel. I know I was not ready and I was confident that I failed it, with great margin (at least in the 60s). Surprisingly, I got 70 with strong on business law which I would never suspected lol. I accept my defeat in comparable mcq weaker sim. I did not study for sim because I was running out of time.
BEC – Studied for 2 weeks putting about 30-35 hours after REG feeling destroyed. Content was jokingly easy but ninja mcq was hard (my old posting was complaining about why I am keep getting bad scores lol). MCQ stat: 1105 questions, 69% average, trending 88%. This was one exam that I was 100% sure I passed without any doubt, and that made me worry because exam was so easy and maybe I was thinking I studied wrong. I did get 87 and stronger on everything except finance (okay I did 6 ninja mcq on finance … I will take comparable lol)
2 down to go… 2 retake. It was a rough but challenging journey. I have audit retake in May and I will probably reschedule REG for June window hopefully.
Good luck with studies and salute for everybody in the process.
