@mvonstei- I'm sorry, but this thread sounds very trollish. We are here working our butts off studying for these exams to accomplish a big thing in our lives and we're waiting here in agony for our scores and praying and praying that our hard work paid off. And you start a thread asking us if we prefer to fail??? Sorry, but Minimorty has every right to get upset.

Hey guys, due to popular demand, I've added a few new categories here for the tally. But I want to remind those who are veterans of this thread or perhaps new at this point…..for a long time, people have simply assumed that everyone wants to Pass the exam. I've often chided Jeff for this, he's admitted his folly, and I took it upon myself to allow people to come out of the proverbial failing closet. So here's the question for those of you who are new……When taking the CPA Exam, which would you prefer, to pass or to fail?

@CPAMAN I'm not claiming that i'm not 100% serious with this thread, but you may want to attempt to position this thread within your own complaint and perhaps you'll realize that maybe humor is exactly what people going through “agony” need. I mean, if i were just sitting at my computer (Which i'm not) waiting for NASBA to post the grades (which they won't) just spamming the refresh button (which is broken now), I think i might enjoy a quick respite to laugh…… 🙂 But that is in no way what this is, this thread is serious……

I sort of equate a “Facepalm” to something like “banging your head against the wall.” No matter what you say, sometimes you just cant get through to people. Btw – I am not upset at all by this thread. @keeptrying said it best when she said that common sense is not so common.

mvonstei – Can you please provide a hypothetical scenario in which someone may “want” to fail the exam?

@Minimorty – That's a great question. I'm also glad you've shown considerable growth since this thread started, A scenerio where someone might want to fail is actually more common than you think (Shout out to Peanut & MikeInMIA). While I am not Pro-Fail currently, I can tell you a time even today where I came close to becoming Pro-Fail. As most of you don't know, I am waiting for my REG scores today, while waiting, my wife said, “Don't worry, I'm sure you did fine”……my response was simple, “Yea, well, wife, what if I didn't? What if I failed wife?”…..her response? She said, “If you failed, i'll cook you any meal you want so you feel better”.

Don't you see MiniMorty? You think I can get my wife to cook Rigatoni with homemade garlic bread any day I want? No, i can't. And it was then MiniMorty, it was at that moment, I struggled with the reality of whether or not I wanted to fail or pass……i may have come out on the pass side, but not everybody does………not everybody does man……
