    After feeling confidant all day yesterday about FAR, doubts have begun creeping in. Roughly 2 weeks to go and I’m panicking. I feel overwhelmed by the material.

    Doesn’t help that I was running late this morning and had a big argument last night with a friend. We are no longer speaking.

    Just wanted to vent somewhere. Thanks for listening.

    @golf

    I am. I have most of the weekend to hit the books hard. Going to bed early tonight. Maybe binge watch Two and Half Men.

    I'm all caught up on the show. Just need to watch last season. Not in the mood for more of Barney and Robin shenanigans.

    Reading the amount of self-restriction in this thread is making me feel like I won't even be close to prepared for my exam. I am about to start F10 and I have a pretty good grasp of most concepts, but I also have still lived my life during my study time. I started exactly one month ago and in that time I have gone to multiple college football games, one weekend RV roadtrip to an away game, one weekend doing a Spartan Race, soccer games every Sunday, softball every Thursday, etc. etc. It is very possible that I am feeling a bit overconfident in my knowledge, but at the same time, I believe all of these activities have allowed me to keep my head during this process.

    Someone on here before mentioned the importance of quality over quantity. The poster above who has spent 10 weeks at 6 hours per day studying is just overkill and there is no way you are adding any incremental value by studying that much. 420 hours for a 4 hour exam is absolutely insane.

    A month for FAR? I've been out of school for a while so It has taken me much longer than a month to get through a lot of this material. I'm basically relearning it from scratch.

    Do you work fulltime or are you able to devote your days to studying? If I didn't work, and could study all day, I would certainly be spending more time with friends and hobbies. I also have 2 kids.

    I have very little free time and I need to use it wisely.

    @Rocky

    I work full-time and commute 90 minutes on average each way. I don't have kids, though.

    The one saving grace to my situation and how I have been able to get through everything so quickly is I started in a speciality position at work in September and it lasts through November. I am afforded a lot of downtime in this position and I have been able to crank through about 2 hours of studying per day while at work.

    Regardless of your individual situation, however, at some point cramming just isn't doing anything for you. Going out and exercising, having fun, etc. etc. will definitely improve your well-being and leave you in a better state of mind to really grasp the topics.

    Rocky:

    We all panic, at one point. Good you're doing it 2 weeks ahead of the exam, since you got plenty of time. FAR is for sure overwhelming at first, however it will get clearer as you keep doing MCQs. For me, it cleared up as I had done roughly 50% of all Becker MCQs and begun running random NINJA MCQs. If you feel lost, just keep doing MCQs, and perhaps do more of them than planned. That will help, both in terms of confidence and knowledge.

    Thanks everyone. Some people seem to let stress roll of their backs. I'm not one of them, unfortunately.

    I know logically that this is exam is not the end of the world. Life goes on if I pass or fail. However, my body does not listen. I've tried deep breathing, self talk, etc. My mind and my body don't seem to talk to each other.

    I get very little sleep and this does not help me mentally. I take prescribed sleeping pills because of stress. I get a good 4 hours of quality sleep and then I am wide awake with my heart racing. The pills must wear off and my thoughts take over.

    Anyway, hopefully things will improve once the exam is taken. Until then, day by day.
