Hi all! I just need to vent so bear with me.

I got my 4th fail with FAR and am anxiously awaiting BEC score release next week. I have one (maybe two) testing windows left before I lose AUD. I am self-employed and just got a huge, very demanding client. (Huge work-wise, not body type)

Yesterday, I got an eviction notice because my rental house is being sold this summer. I have two months to find a new place to live with hubs, kid, dog, cat, chickens, etc. It is an extremely tight rental market (it’s so bad that it made the national news) and we have been paying far below market. No more! Now, we’ll be lucky to rent a trailer an hour away and have to get rid of our pets.

I’m so stressed I can’t concentrate on studying for FAR. Not to mention that I’m so bloody burned out I could scream.

I’m not even sure how to refocus myself so that I can actually pass FAR this time around. help…

    AUD 88 (expired), 80 retake
    FAR 64,69,67,73,67,73,73,73, August 3
    REG 75 (expired) September 7
    BEC 72, 77

    The adventure continues...

Sometimes life will get in the way. As I see it, you have two options:

    1. gather everyone you know to rally around you and your family and help in anyway they can to support you while you continue to study and focus on passing.

    2. Set aside the CPA test until you gain more stability with your life situation.

Your BEC score might help you decide which option is better. If you pass, then focus on option 1. If you don't then option 2 might be better. In reality, its only a test that will still be around when you're availble to come back to it with more focus.

    Hope that helps.

    AUD - 90
    FAR - 71, 76
    REG - 75
    BEC - 76 (bubble sucks)

Solid advice from Vern (or should i say “Ernest” advice).

Are you in Colorado? Our rental market is crazy right now. Anything that can be set aside should be set aside. Im a perfectionist, but one can only do so much. two testing windows is not that much time in the long run but the cpa will last a lifetime (under most conditions). Keep that in mind.

Now… this may sound counterintuitive but trust me on this. You poor thing. Take a break. Get a massage, go for a walk, just try to relax and clear your mind.

I found out in January that i had 1 shot at reg or i lose it all. Talk about stress. I finished bec asap to devote all my attention to reg, as if i failed bec, i could still retake in the next window with reg. BUT i had my honeymoon already booked for march several months before, paid for and nonrefundable. There was nothing i wanted to do LESS than spend a week in the bahamas when i should be studying and risk blowing it all. But of course we went and had a blast. A week of no responsibility, but i did study some flash cards occasionally. i came back refreshed, and relaxed, and MUCH more focused. I don't know how i did yet, but regardless, i needed that time to clear my mind and regain my sanity.

    Take care and good luck.

Thank you for your words of advice. This is the only place I know of that truly understands the additional stress of this test.

I'm going to take a few days to chill and collect moving boxes 😉
