I’m currently using Becker and signed up for all 4 parts online. However, after getting through FAR I came to the conclusion I need a slower pace. Plus, I was ambitious and scheduled classes 6-7 days after another one ends so that gives me little study time. I was wondering how much it would cost to switch formats. I don’t start my FT job until first week of Nov and planned on just studying instead of looking for a PT job so budget is reeeealllly tight between bills and exam fees.

I stopped following online schedule and been doing it on my own as if self-study WITHOUT paying any fees or officially notifying Becker.

Basically I followed Becker schedule for FAR & AUD sections, took 2 exams in one window and got burned out at the pace and other increased responsibilities. And made decision to slow down from 2 chapters per week and two week final review to 1 chapter per week and 4 weeks final review and added break between the exams. It had been working great. Less stress, better grades and more opportunities to have some semblance of normal family life (not much social though).

Why do you want to spend more cash when you already have all the Becker materials (I assume)? Throwing money at review courses isn't gonna increase your chances of passing. If you don't have the complete Becker materials then it's another story.

I personally get nothing out of lectures. I haven't watched one so far as I feel time can be much better spent reading the book (Roger) or doing MC.

@SeattleAccountant I never thought about keeping the online course and following my own schedule. Probably because my facilitator emails pretty regularly about completing the homework before the next chapter so I felt “watch” lol and @CPAtobe11 my firm paid for the materials so not a huge cost on my end if I wan't to switch. I plan on sitting for FAR and AUD before the window closes and if I fail one or both I would rather restudy for those in Sept instead of starting REG and end up having 3 exams to study/test for in the next window.

I changed from the live courses to self study back in January. You can call Becker to be sure but I think the first change to a new method is free. It's $200 for each change after that.
