Normal Study Day

I was curious to everyone out there what would be a normal study day during the week. I currently work 10 hour days at my job and I try to get a good 30 minutes to an hour during my lunch break for studying. Then I will come home and get a couple hours at least in before heading off to bed. But luckily I have Fridays off, so I try to get at least 4 hours on friday, saturday and sunday. However, I am also listening to NINJA Audio all the time I am driving my car to work, to get food, pretty much anywhere I go. I was just curious what everyone else’s study habits are.

Monday-Friday days: 1 hour on my lunch break, occasionally will go out to lunch on a Friday

Monday-Thursday nights: 1.5-2 hours extra studying after work/dinner. This is what is *feasibly possible*, as in still taking time to eat a meal at home most nights and getting to bed before midnight. When I don't do these things, everything else suffers, including studying.

= 10-13 hours before the weekend

    Saturday: 2-3

    Sunday: 3-4

Total on average, 15-20. This usually goes up a bit the closer the test comes due to panic mode.

So far far THIS week, I have 8hrs total.

I try to get in 2-4 hours a night during the week 3-4 nights I usually take a night or two off to see a friend or attend a function. On the weekends I try to get in 4-6 hours a day, 2-3 in the morning and 2-4 in the afternoon sometimes 2-3 at night. I try to get 20 hours maybe more in a week. I also try not to count hours too much since I try to study in 1/2 hour sessions then a short break then another 1/2 hours. Since I start to zone out if I try to do marathon sessions.

    Happy studying!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I have tried the ELL method but I am not by any means an early bird. I function way better with the extra hour of sleep, trust me. I study during lunch on weekdays…mostly this is just re-writing NINJA notes. In the evenings, I leave work at 5 and go home to have dinner, do laundry, etc and then from 7-10 I lock myself in the study cave. I take one weeknight off to have dinner with my daughters or go shopping (hey, I'm not a robot!). Saturdays and Sundays I try to study at least 6 hours each day. Life and family get in the way sometimes but I try to stick to this schedule as much as possible. Oh, and I use NINJA flashcards anytime I have a few free minutes. Love, love LOVE them!

I need to get a better “normal” routine. I did really well studying back in the winter, but now that it's summer, I just want to be outside/at the pool/at the beach/anywhere but my kitchen table.

Every other day I wake up at 5am and study from 5:30-6:30. The other days I go to the gym. In the summers, we only have a half hour lunch, so I usually spend 25-30 min of my lunch time studying. I leave work around 5:15/5:30 and get home around 6:15 (I hate traffic). If life works well, I study from 6:30/7 – 9ish. Fridays-Sundays are my weekends in the summer, so I honestly just try to study most of the day. But I probably only accomplish 5-6 hours of quality study time.

When it's NOT summer and I don't have Fridays off, I have an hour lunch that I dedicate to studying, and I get home at 5:15. So I have more time available to study during the weekdays.

I try to study 3 hours Monday – Friday after work. I listen to Yeager Audio Lectures on my way to work and back. I also listen to them on my lunch. I study 5 hours on Saturday and 5 on Sunday and…. still little progress…. It is really hard since I have been out of school for years now. I am not doing as many MCQs as I feel I should be as I don't have enough time. It takes me forever to go over the theory by reading as I have to reread each sentence over and over again…. They simply don't register in my brain….

@gorbuha – it's a lot of material, but I just plowed through it all and made the best of it. My sim score pulled me through to passing, so know your journal entries!!

I get an hour in during lunch 4 days/week and 2 hours after work 3-4 days a week for a total of 10-12 hours M-F. I normally don't study on the weekends, but starting this weekend will be trying to get in 3-4 hours on either Saturday or Sunday because I need to reach 15 hours/week.
