    Hi

I am new to this site, but after reading the blogs I thought might as well join so many helpful topics. I stopped using Becker (failed twice in BEC and once in REG) and switched to Cpaexcel and Wiley Testbank. Since making the switch I have passed BEC 76 (Nov 2013) and REG 77 (Feb 2014). My first credit expires in May 2015 and trying to figure out if I should take FAR or AUD. In regards to auditing is it recommended that I take a college course before prepping for the exam, because I do not know anything about auditing?

Any recommendations/thoughts would be greatly appreciated

I would take FAR before audit. The reason being is FAR seems to be the most comprehensive. Since the clock ticking on some of your tests expiring, you maybe able to have a cushion should you need a retake.

I would recommend taking FAR first, and then AUD. Taking an auditing class may be helpful, but not necessary. And I'm curious, how are you able to take the CPA exam without having already taken an auditing class?

    AUD - 01/18/14 - 81
    BEC - 05/29/14 - 85
    FAR - 07/18/14 - 81
    REG - 11/18/14 - 80

I would take FAR 1st and shoot for getting it done by May 30th 2014 and then take AUD in late July. I wouldn't bother with an audit class because you will end studying a lot more material that is not commonly tested. The AUD exam tends to test more on audit report specifics than you would see in an auditing course.

@Spartan Some states, like California, do not require specific accounting courses. As long as you have 24 units of accounting classes you can sit for the exam.

I spoke to an ancient wise man who sent me on a mushroom induced journey through an ancient forest to find the key to passing the CPA exam. A talking spider monkey told me to throw the last of my drinking water in the dirt to find what I was looking for. So I followed his instructions and the following message appeared in the soil:

"Do 5000 multiple choice questions for each section"

Yes Study Monk is correct, I graduated with a degree in economics, and New Jersey allows you to sit for the exam if you have a degree. However they will not issue a certificate without 150 credits, I am about 10 credits short.

Thanks for the input, I will order my material for FAR and start studying
