Hi, I am trying for the exam in my mid-40s. Should I apply for one exam at a time? So, in case I fail in the first window, I can try again in the second window right away? Please give me some advice. Thank you so much.

I started at 37 …. I would advise one test per NTS …. I did it in 15 months from opening the first Book to getting my last score ….

I'm doing it at 42! I'm doing one at a time. I usually apply about a month or so before I want to sit, so that I get my NTS early enough to get the date, time, location I want. Plus, having the exam schedule keeps me on track with my studying.

I started at the beginning of Feb studying BEC, but wasn't able to schedule before the Q1 testing window closed. My FAR class started at the beginning of March, so I set BEC aside to study for FAR. I took and passed FAR in mid-April and then went back and completed BEC review and took that in mid-May. I passed both and am now studying for REG, which I have scheduled for July 6. My AUD review class starts mid-July and I hope to take that in mid-August and be done with licensing by the end of Sept.

That timeline may seem fast, but I'm single with no kids (unless you count the dogs), so it works for me. Just do what works for you! 🙂

I am 36 doing 1 part at a time. While I want to get it over with, I also want to pass on my first tries if possible, so I am not skimping anything just to get them done faster.

Passed all on 1st attempt using GLEIM (full program) and NINJA (MCQ only)!!!

Thank you so much, all of you. You really make me feel much better and encouraging.I think I should do one exam per NTS too. The only problem maybe during the tax season which I cannot study or take any exam. I work full time outside and hold my own tax practice on aside. But I will want to try pass the exam and be a CPA at last. It will be perfect for my tax practice. Will let you all know how I am doing later on.

I started at 47… Finished at 48.. (Jan 2014 – May 2015).

Absolutely not crazy. Just passed my final exam and I almost did a cart-wheel 🙂 Thought better of it!

Anyway, I did one exam each session. I set my own pace and stuck to my own schedule.
