I’m in the extremely fortunate position of trying to figure out when to take my 4th (and hopefully last) exam- BEC. I need some advice on timing. I have three possibilities:

1) January 6th- this would mean that I put in some pretty heavy hours through the holidays BUT I would have the exam out of the way before my busy season starts on January 10th.

2) January 17, 18, or 20th- gives me more time, but I’d be finishing up my studying during the beginning of busy season. But it would give me the shortest amount of wait time for score release on (approx) February 4th.

3) End of February- gives me until the end of the window and plenty of time to study. Also, if I fail, I’ll have a shorter amount of time before I can retake in April. But question is, if I’ve started studying for BEC already, is that too much time?

My advice to anyone is study as much as you can and take the CPA at the earliest possible the time. The earlier you can get it out the way the better. So my advice to you will be take it on Jan 6th. Since you've already started studying, now till Jan 6th is enough time to prepare for BEC. Also, this works perfectly for you since you'll be done before busy season. Good luck!
