Need Advice re Scheduling of Exams…BEC vs. FAR (or both?!)

    I need advice, please.

I have Audit on 30 May and rescheduled BEC to the beginning of July in order to get Audit in prior to changes in July. The NTS for BEC and FAR are expiring on 1 August. I have a lot of BEC study time under my belt and could probably knock it out in a month but know that by August I won’t be able to do both BEC and FAR. If I study BEC in June then I only have 4 weeks for FAR and don’t think that is enough. What would you do? Let BEC go and get FAR tackled – that would give me about 8 weeks. Or, should I just show up for BEC at least to try and take it …see how it goes or just not go and reschedule after FAR?

    AUD 5/30/13
    BEC 7/1/13
    FAR 8/?/13
    FAR ?

Knock out BEC at the beginning of July. You'll get the most out of the time you've already put into it by taking it earlier.

I would let FAR expire, get a new NTS, and schedule it for the end of August.

I'd at least try to take FAR. You really have nothing to lose. I wouldn't recommend trying to do FAR in 4 weeks, but if you really dig, there's always a chance.

    FAR- 77
    AUD -49, 71, 84
    REG -56,75!
    BEC -75

I would never let a NTS expire! Study and give it the best you've got. Whats the worst case? You don't pass and you need to retake it? If you let it expire your throwing away that money if you give it a shot with 4 weeks you may pass.

    A - 61, 91!!
    B - 78!
    F - 76!!!
    R - 71, 73, 74, 69, 77!!!!

    Finally done!

This is my 2nd attempt at the exam, I had two parts passed (failed many) and I stupidly quit, big mistake. Now I'm back and with a vengeance!

I recommended letting FAR expire because if you fail, you'll have to wait at least 2 months to re-take it in October. If we're being realistic, 4 weeks to study for FAR is far from ideal. 8-9 weeks on the other hand, is pretty good.

I personally would want to get these exams over with as soon as possible and I think taking BEC at the beginning of the window and FAR at the end is the best way to do that.

Gobias – great point! If you take aug 1 you can not retake till the next window. I didn't even think of that!

Can I apply for another NTS while the other is still active (even though close to expiry) and take in same window that first one expired? I like the idea of taking it end of August – way more doable.

    Thanks for great advice!
