I received a 73 on this exam previously. (Becker)

    First testlet…………Medium Difficulty

    Second testlet…….Harder than the first

Third testlet………..Similar to the first one

Sims…………………3 or 4 of them, I know I did good on. 2 of them I totally had no clue. I feel that I got the research question correct.

My honest feeling is that I got a 70. That’s obviously a total guess based on my emotion after the exam. But hopefully I passed. There were 4 or 5 multiple-choice questions that I really had no clue on. And then some others that I marked for review. And I studied very hard (Yaeger). I did every question in the Wiley book at least 3 times. And did quizzes on the Wiley online test-bank almost everyday. I guess time will tell.

Hey I took AUD on monday. My reaction to the test is similar to yours. This was my first time taking it. The 1st testlet was medium difficulty but the 2nd and 3rd testlet got harder as I went between the testlets. Not sure if this was a good or bad sign. The SIMS were insane!!! I had two research questions (not sure if this was the norm) which were equally as hard and involved researching into standards that Becker didn't even have me research into it, IE – review & attestation engagements. The rest of the simulations I felt okay about but I felt on some I wasn't 100% confident on the answers. I tried to use the standards to help me but that didn't help too much. I feel like I passed but don't want to jynx myself haha.

I am sure we both did fine!

    FAR - 79!
    AUD - 79!

@Future_CPA, I took audit at the end of last testing window and I felt the exact same way when I left the testing center. My first teslet was easy, second was hard, and third was in between but I felt I did bad because some of the questions were very poorly worded. Then on the sims I knew I got the research question and I knew that I did well on at least 3 sims but the rest I had no idea… Needless to say I ended up with an 84 after I was convinced I failed. I would be willing to bet you end up passing, just hang in there even though it will be awful for the next three weeks before score releases because you will probably convince yourself more that you failed as each day goes by just like I did! It was a great feeling though when I found out I actually passed after being certain that I failed!

    Thanks Becker!

Thanks @Texas27. That makes me feel a lot better. You're right. I am going to worry now until my score comes out. Luckily, next week is vacation for me so maybe I can forget about it for a while. Congratulations on your scores, and good luck with FAR. How is that going for you?

@samores: I hope we both passed. Let me know when you receive your score and I'll do the same. I hope our harder 2nd testlet's helped us pass.

@Texas27 – I see that you only spent 3.5 weeks studying for audit. What was your plan of attack? What materials did you use? Do you work in Audit? I began studying last night and I was extremely overwhelmed. Is it normal?

Thanks in advance and good luck with tests everyone.

    Bec - 66, 71
    Aud - 73

Going to enjoy some of the summer and retake both in August since my clock hasn't started ticking yet.

@Future_CPA… FAR is going good… I feel more prepared for it than I did with AUD and BEC

@SportsNerd… Before I started the CPA exam I thought that audit was going to be my hardest test because I always hated my auditing classes, I did an internship in tax, and will start working in tax for a Big 4 this summer. I have only used Becker to study for all of the sections so far and I don't plan on using any other CPA prep to study for REG. I would have to say that Becker has prepared me pretty well, especially for audit, and I think it is preparing me pretty well for FAR but we will see next Thursday.

For audit, I can pretty much say that I really didn't know anything before I started studying. I did two Becker lectures a week and gave my self 5 days for my final review. It does seem a little overwhelming at first but you have to remember that the material is not going to change and there are essentially no calculation questions. Therefore, they can only ask a question in so many different ways. The key to getting them right is reading the question VERY carefully because it is easy to miss what the question is asking. On 70% of the questions you can narrow them down to at least two choices pretty easily provided you know the material somewhat well. My advice to you would be to do as many multiple choice questions as you possibly can (I did around 2,000). You should use the practice simulations to maybe understand the material but they really don't prepare you for the sims on the exam. You should just learn to utilize the research tab for the simulations because there is really no way to predict what they will be asking on the exam. I left 2 hours for the simulations so that I could use the research tab and I used all two hours to do the sims. I actually found an entire simulation word for word in the research tab and I would have probably missed most of it provided I didn't search for it. Let me know if you have any questions. Good luck!

    Thanks Becker!
