So I passed 3 of the 4 sections on the first try and I am stuck and completely discouraged on REG. I’ve failed it twice despite being relatively comfortable with the material. At this point I am completely burnt out going through this process for almost a year now while working full time.

What kinds of things did you do to stay focused/motivated and finish strong on that last “beast test”?

    AUD - 80 (05/23/2012)
    FAR - 75 (08/09/2012)
    BEC - 81 (12/05/2012)
    REG - 71 (10/16/2012); 70 (02/12/2013); 78 (04/08/2013)
    Ethics - 98

Just got my little candidate performance report for my 70 on REG.

As suspected, my sims were weaker. I went back and checked the material for my sims and sure enough I screwed the pooch. Those darn sims stand between me and a CPA certificate!!

Im in the same boat…passed the first three on the first try and REG and I are just not getting along. Hopefully third time is the charm. I am beyond exhausted with studying and working and keeping up with the rest of life. Even though its my last one its still hard to get motivated….I just want to sleep!

    Good Luck!

One thing I did for motivation was print out my scores from the NASBA website, made several copies of them and plastered them all around my cubicle at work. That way no matter where I turned it my chair at any given moment, I could see those THREE passing scores. I did the same thing at home. This alone should motivate you to do MC's until you are ready to puke.

Good Luck on your FINAL exam!!

@candothis I have done the opposite. I have my failing grade at my desk and wrote under it…this will not happen again. It was even the background on my phone for a while.

I have never done so many MC questions in my life!

I totally can relate to everyone. I took what I thought would be my last test (REG) on the last day of the first quarter testing window. The test kicked my butt, but I was just praying that I would slide with a 75. I even put away my study material after the test, just hoping/knowing that I would slide witha 75. On result day, I failed with a 74. Truly cut me like a knife. I would have rather saw a 0 or 60 on my screen, but the 74 just choked the life out of me. Round 2 in April. We all must remain positive and keep pushing through!

    Good luck all!

@ Future: I have CPA nightmares semi regularly. Its a bit ridiculous. Sometimes they are about not getting a marker board in a color I like <Seriously have lost sleep over that one!

@obvus22: I too failed REG, would have been my last one with a 74. Like you I would have rather saw a 0 or a 2 or anything other than the dreaded 74. I am taking it again in April…I had to “dig” out all my study materials as well. Good Luck!

Hi. I passed my first three on the first try and BEC is my last one. I am struggling to stay focused with all the different topics in this section. Any ideas for those of you who have sat for BEC?

I was very concerned about not passing REG with so much to remember so, I bought the NINJA audio. I listened during my commute to work and during my commute to the live Becker classes. It really helped me to get all of the little nuances down for this section and increased my confidence. I would really recommend it. BTW, I am a bad test taker with 3 busy boys, a husband and a full time job. So if I could do it, you can do it.
