soonerorlaterParticipantMegan:
I feel your pain. My two little ones say, “dad has to study” as they frown. My nine year old tells me good luck and I think your doing great. On other days, ” all you do is study.” It tears me up how much this impacts my family. I promised them an XBox after I pass…
I feel the same way…distracted, frustrated, and freaked out that I will not pass…the big “what if.” What helps me is perhaps shorter bursts of studying to keep my mind focused. I get very distracted in the home stretch. We are here for you and been there. I've found the free ninja study schedule to be a huge help in structuring my studying. Before the ninja I lacked in being study efficient and too much because I think I should.
Good luck on your 8/31.

kb24Participant@soonerorlater – Good luck with REG. IMO it's the toughest exam, but it sounds like you're doing a methodical, thorough job preparing for it so you should do OK.
@yankee – Good luck to you with AUD. I know that you have a lot going on in your life in addition to the exam. I'll be thinking about you on 7/30.
@megan – A lot of people are impressed with what I did, but I think your situation is a thousand times tougher because you're having to deal with so many responsibilities. I can't imagine how difficult it is studying for the exam with young children and a demanding job. Do your best to keep your focus on studying for the next two weeks. I wish you the best of luck to finishing up with the exam and moving on with your life.

Thanks! I'm at a low point climbing back up thanks to you all. After I last posted, a co-worker mentioned the CPA exam and said a friend of hers took forever to pass. I asked how long and she said just under a year. She's never taken it, but I was urked…

AnonymousInactive@Megan – you are amazing. Don't ever underestimate how brave you are to do this with babies. I miss your blogs but I know you are focusing on more important things. I'm really pulling for you. FAR is so overwhelming but it is doable. It took me a year but I finally did it. You will too.
Why is the last section the hardest to study for?

MeganParticipantThank you kb, sooner, mla, and Allyson. I just needed a pick me up today and you guys did the trick.
I do need to start blogging. I don't really have anything new to say, but I think I'll write one this week. It does get me a little more motivated!
And everyone on here is a superhero too. This thing is freaking hard no matter what your situation or circumstance is.
And Allyson, that picture is priceless 🙂 And PS – Do you know Kellie Rasberry?!?

jomarieParticipantMy 15 month old decided to start walking tonight and guess where I was??? Yes you guess it, in my room studying. My husband was out of the room and my 7 year old started to yell and clap her hands yelling yay!!! Instead of her saying I'm going to go get Mommy she said I'm going to go get Daddy and tell him. That really hurt. I can't wait until I'm done with this exam so I can get back into my kids lives. I feel like I've missed my 15 month old whole life so far. She doesn't even get to excited to see me anymore…:(

yankeeaccountantParticipantHey guys,
Ok, I have 11 days till my exam and I told myself that I wouldn't get on the forum till the weekend because I need to get some major studying for the next 3 days. But it just keeps calling. Funny I keep picking up the phone when the forum rings, but when Audit is calling..I am MIA.
Anyway, I wanted to give my 2 cents to the very moving posts from Megan and Jomarie. I agree with all the above posts. You both are amazing to be going through this process with little ones. As much as you both are suffering now–you are both so close to being done–and YOU will be done!! I admire your tenacity and perseverance. You are tough chicks indeed. Reading your posts this morning gave me a good, swift, hard kick in the @ss! Thanks for inspiring me. 🙂
@kb24–thanks for the encouragement! Watch out Audit, here I come!!
@allyson–I have always loved that pic!
Have a great day everybody!

AnonymousInactive@Jomarie, there are definitely moments we miss while studying and it hurts. Just hang in there and think of what you will be doing on August 30 – playing with your babies!!
@Megan, Kellie Rasberry is from my hometown. She and I used to work at Belk together many moons ago selling pantyhose. She was always so hilarious.

kb24ParticipantMy husband is an OB/GYN. One of his patients took REG for the 3rd time about the same time I did and then delivered less than 2 weeks later. At the same time she had a toddler and was working for one of the big 4. REG was her last exam, but it had really been a struggle for her because she was an auditor and from China so she had no experience with taxes. I never even spoke to her but felt like I knew her because she asked about me at every appointment. She couldn't believe I was taking all the tests so close together, and I couldn't believe that she was able to study sufficiently with everything else she had to do. I wish I knew how she did, but she delivered and had her 6 week appointment before she got her score so I never got the final update.
@megan and jomarie
You are both amazing women, and I know your kids will be so proud of what you've accomplished. Good luck to you.

jomarieParticipantThank you everyone!! I took the rest of last night off from studying cause all I wanted to do was cry. My 7 year old was playing video games with my husband and I spent sometime with my little one. And yes Allyson – on Aug 30th my husband and I are taking the girls camping for a few days and I can't wait to be sitting by the pool, bonfire, and just relaxing!! Between Aug 30th and Labor day will be the BEST VACATION EVER!!! I CAN'T WAIT!!
