yankeeaccountantParticipant@Allyson,
hahaha. “I live in a van down by the river.”……..Chris Farley at his best. 🙂 We have the Chris Farley SNL Best of DVD–love it!
You are right, we have to remember that it is temporary. And what was separated, will come back together!

AnonymousInactiveOh good to know I'm not alone 🙂 I have 2 kids, one is 3 yrs old today (yep it's her birthday and I'm at the library!!!) and the other is 6. I get a good break since my son (6 yrs old) started full day 1st grade. Last year (though I managed to pass BEC (85) and FAR (80) on the first try, it was miserable since my son is very active and attention demanding. My 3 yrs old girl is a lot more agreeable (LOL), so I can get some rest/study while she takes the mid-day nap. My hubby works and travels occasionally (a week to a month per trip), but when he is around (after work or weekends) he is very helpful and try to give me time to study. We live very far from our family, so we don't get any help. And since we only have 1 moderate income we don't want to spend any on babysitting/day care yet. I wish that I have gotten this done before having children. I'm taking AUD in 9 days, and nervously waiting for REG score 11/21.
Good luck everyone! we can do it!

yankeeaccountantParticipantMy hubby left on a business trip on Tuesday morning (down in Midland/Odessa Texas) and then stopping on the way home in Austin to see his sister and kids –he won't get home till Sunday. I know this seems cruel and mean, but it is a nice break. We were having our usual bumps before I took Audit on 11/23, so having the week to unwind from exams and score release (cough, cough!) is a luxury. It really has helped me get over my 72 on REG to just deal with me and not his displeasure, reaction, feigned concern, etc.
Life is weird!!!!

pacific1Participant@yankee – I hope you are enjoying some alone time, I think there is nothing wrong with saying sometimes we just need some space from our spouses and especially when you are trying to accomplish something they do not have your back with. You are doing an amazing job and you WILL pass this…enjoy your time until Sunday and then get right back on the bandwagon. 🙂

yankeeaccountantParticipant@Pacific,
Thanks for your support! I will get right back on that bandwagon come Monday! I have my new supply of notebooks and such–so I am armed and dangerous 😉
I am so hoping for good news for you on FAR. See you on the next Power thread!
thanks again for your positive vibes !

Marivy22ParticipantI'm in trouble. My husband is leaving on a business trip for two weeks, which means that I will be taking care of our 2 yr old son all alone and that I will not be able to spend 10+ hours at the library during next weekend, no family around ;( I still hate my FAR score
Anyway, I guess I will leave my boy at daycare at 7 so I can have 1.30 hours in the morning, 1 at lunch and 2 at night about the weekend I don't know.. At least, he will be out for just one weekend
Done 😉
Class of 2012!!!!
Lots of prayers and hard work....December 5, 2011 at 12:54 pm #576746
yankeeaccountantParticipantI feel for you. My husband traveled a ton when the kids were little, and many times over the weekend. Sounds like you have a good game plan for during the week. If he still naps, maybe you could squeeze in a couple on the weekend….or pop a movie in for him and study while he watches……..??????
I am totally amazed and in awe of all the moms and dads with little ones studying for this exam. You guys are amazing!!!
Best of luck

katiekantonMemberMe too. It's like that commercial showing a woman with a baby in one arm and a highlighter and book in the other and the voiceover says “To the 5 am scholar…” It's some commercial for online degrees I think. Anyway, I always get a little teary and then chastise myself for being such a wuss. People who have the discipline to pull all of this off absolutely amaze me.
AUD - 88
FAR - 90
REG - 85
BEC - 88December 5, 2011 at 3:06 pm #576748
AnonymousInactiveThank goodness my husband and I aren't planning on children for another few years. I don't know how you women do it with kids. I don't think I'd have the patience or the drive to do it.

AnonymousInactiveThis is my first post after about a year and a half break from the site and exam in general.
I got married September 17, and after a long conversation with my now husband, we have decided it would be best for our future family if I was to try again. I'm not too excited since I didn't have the best experience with the exam the first time around, but I know I need to try again. Hopefully it goes better this time!!
