I only tried the classroom option once which is where they playback the same lecture that we watch at home. The only difference is there is a professor there to answer questions. It wasn't worth it for me. But it works for some people. 20 hours or so is pretty good for one week, if you can keep the distractions at a minimum. I can say that I've “studied” 20 hours, but if you include all the times my mind wandered, or I was surfing the web, or something else, it'd actually be about 10.

    BEC - 65 (4/10), 83 (8/10)
    AUD - 64 (10/10), 73 (2/11), 93 (8/11)
    REG - 47 (7/09), 80 (10/11)
    FAR - 84 (11/11) Texas. I'm done!!!

My advice – i dont know much, but dont use bisk. I'm kind of stuck with it since i paid for it already, and am out of cash-ol-a with a baby and a 6 year old and a mortgage. SO dont use bisk. there, that's my two cents. Other than that, i allow myself a glass of wine and epside of something on Bravo after every chapter.

    BEC - 91
    AUD - 92
    REG - 75 Holy Cow
FAR - Pretending does not exist

@LCAggie – did you use Bisk for BEC and AUD? If so, why not recommend it? Your scores are awesome!

I took the first 2 Becker live classes. The only difference as far as I can see is that you develop camraderie. It was like having a live “another71”. It was great to talk with others and exchange study ideas, etc. Both exams I took while in those classes were not passes. I got a 74, 70 on BEC and FAR.

I now like the flexibility of studying on my own. I think it is a personal choice because I didn't feel like I got any advantage or knowledge. The lectures are exactly the same.

    Best of luck.

I don't think the Becker Live courses are worth it for me personally. I did them but the only exam I passed was Reg with it…and I've done that without the live courses. I think it's great for someone that needs the discipline to study. For me it was exhausting because I went after work. I was so tired after leaving there I didn't get a chance to do the questions timely. Self Study has been the way for me. I don't have the best of scores but for someone working full time and raising a family I think they are decent!

    REG-80, 77, 77
    BEC-67, 68, 71, 67, 71, 74, 71, 74, 72, 77

    AUD-58, 62, 72, 74, 74, 75
took 5 years but I'm DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hated the “live” Becker class, quit after 4 classes. I can watch videos on my own time and not 2 hours away.

I think they do have real-live instructors in the big cities like NY that may be worthwhile.

@Allyson and keeptrying, what study materials do you use? I am new to this forum and married, 2 kids, fulltime career, etc. I am currently using Yaeger home study. I implemented the Ninja notes for Reg and came close but still no passing. I am going to follow Jeff's study plan exactly for AUD (NINJA framework) and see if that produces better results but always appreciate advice from others! Thanks!!

For what it's worth, if you look at my FAR scores, the first two attempts I used Becker and the remainder were with Yaeger home study. HOWEVER, the last time I got and primarily used Yaeger CRAM which I thought was fantastic and had shorter, more condensed videos, than the home study course. I really think that is what finally helped me reach the passing score.

    AUD - 82 Becker
    BEC - 75 Becker
    REG - 71, 82 Becker
    FAR - 66,61,71,74,70 and #6 80!!!! FINALLY DONE!!! 9/20/12
Yaeger and Yaeger CRAM for the final battle!

    @Mom2two,

I used Becker for REG and AUD but mostly Yaeger for FAR and BEC. I would sometimes mix them up.

For example, I used Yaeger for all of BEC except IT and Econ.

For REG and FAR I did all the Wiley sims because they were more true to the exam. Becker was good for simulation functionality but Wiley was best for content.

All four sections required different approaches and I once I learned what I liked about each review course, I'd incorporate it in.

I think Yaeger is great for the money. If I weren't lucky enough to have Becker provided, I could have passed with Yaeger alone. It's all about what you put into it and get out of the instructors. I'm not a reader, I liked having them spoon feed it to me. Practice is the most essential part of the equation. Do mcq until your eyes bleed.

I would just like to confirm what Allyson mentioned about Becker having live instructors in some areas. I attend their live classes in Salt Lake City, UT. What I like about it is that sometimes people will have good questions that they can just ask the instructor during class and that if I still am struggling with a concept or having a hard time on the multiple choice questions and sims, I can view the DVD lecture to get another perspective. I certainly wouldn't go to a “live” class where they just showed the DVD lectures.

    FAR - 83
    AUD - 81
REG - 76 (That was close!)
    BEC - 82

hey everyone i would like to join your group! I find that it is so hard to study while being married- we also just bought a house last year and i want to just work on it, etc! I took BEC july 1 and AUD aug 31 and failed both- i have been using Becker online because it is part of my MBA through Keller Grad School online…I will have my MBA in Dec 2011…Hub and I are waiting to have kids till I finish the entire exam but UGH now it looks like we will be waiting longer. Sucks!

    REG JAN 31,2012
    AUD AUG 31,2011- 54 RESCH FEB 4 2012
