Allyson – That's awesome about Kellie Rasberry. I listen to her everyday!

I'm glad we can all come here and air out our frustrations dealing with spouses/families while going through this process. You all inspire me! Now I gotta get off Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Google Reader, etc. etc. etc….

    Hello:

I am new in this forum, but I love all the comments and I felt like sharing. i am also married (althought with so much study my husband might want to get divorced, lol) and have two kids 7 and 4 years old. This is hard, very hard, but I also feel it is worthy, I will feel incomplete not doing it and finally passing it. Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    REG (2/17/11) – 85

    BEC (5/27/11) – 83

    AUD (7/15/11) – waiting

Today's insensitivity award goes to my beloved. Just got a text message from my new/old husband that reads “uh, so what are we doing about M's birthday? Are we picking up a cake and are we cooking for the family?”

Can we have this discussion TOMORROW afternoon dear? We don't have this discussion 20 hours before exam time. Life or death conversations, yes. What would you like for dinner? sure. But cake and ice cream?

Unless I go to the bakery, test their controls such as their measuring cups, decide which ingredients I would like to audit, request substantive proof that 4 cups of flour were indeed used in my cake…….

    Nah.

I just got married at the end of June, I packed all my stuff and came to NC from TX, left everyone I know, and moved in with my husband's parents!! My husband works full time, and my in laws are home all day unless they are out of town traveling. They were out for 8 days last week and I got so much done! I liked taking breaks from my studying to cook something or clean something. Now that they are back, I am stuck in my room, only to go down to eat and maybe clean up a little. Yes, it's convenient, I don't have to really do anything and can focus on studying. BUT, being stuck in my room is driving me crazy! At least last week I was able to study downstairs, in the living room, on the dining table, etc….Distractions are still here, computer, TV, etc. but it def. makes a difference.

I do love it when my husband comes home, he helps me understand concepts that I should know(!) but don't.

@mla – That actually sounds like something I would like to do right now, even if it's going to the bakery to audit them, it has to be better than actually being here, reading, working q's, b/c I am def. getting discouraged doing this!!

ok, probably not sanctioned by Becker, Wiley, or the AICPA for that matter–but 3 days before my Audit exam–I took the night off.

Yep, you read that right, took the night off. Not necessarily the smartest thing, because Audit for me is like a whole other language. But my husband was gone all week on business, came home Saturday morning at 11 a.m. and was leaving for Dallas at 12:00 on Sunday. So, my hubby and I went out with a couple to a football game. We had a blast. Never laughed so hard. I didn't feel like a CPA candidate who was studying like hell to pass the last of four exams, or a wife and mother who was reminding herself how much it would mean to the whole family if Mom could be done (finally), I just hoisted back a few beers ( I know I am an accountant, but I didn't keep track of that number 🙂 and enjoyed the time. In the moment. It was great. I found out that I am kinda fun to be around (when I am not talking about Peter, Tim, The forum, or Wiley)–who knew????!!!

Maybe not the smartest thing I have ever done, but now it is time to dig in and finish strong.

I can't believe you cheated on Peter Olinto. You know what he says, “What sticks, sticks”. What a turn-on.

Oh, he really means, “Your date for Saturday night is the summary chart on page…”

Somehow those nights off are so few and far between that it makes them oh-so-special. We appreciate what we miss. I'm glad you had fun!!

So got home did fall cleaning while wife was at work. Later that night we are getting ready to watch a movie and h asks me why I keep wandering around the apartment. I realized now that last section I tested I dont need to be doing MCQs or flashcards at night. Just sitting there enjoying a movie felt like such a guilty pleasure.

I actually went to the movie theatre–heck, I haven't done that in sooooo long. Guilty pleasure indeed. What happened to the prices at the movie theatre?? My med coke was $5.15—-what the heck?! I guess it has been a very long time. But it was worth it…..felt good to be out and about!
