the MCQs were definitely doable, I studied to the point of being able to have a reasonable answer for 80% of them but my test was EXTREMELY tricky and not straight forward at all. Even the first testlet was tricky. Someone taking this exam would have had to know every single nuance about the sections to get these answers correct.

First testlet was pretty straight forward. Took me about 25 minutes.

Second testlet was medium except for a few questions out of left field. The questions didn’t get longer but more geared towards smaller topics. Not sure what they were asking for a few of them.

Third testlet was freaking stupid. I remember struggling with this one.

SIMs were a joke as usual (not in a good way)

It sounds like you may have gone into the exam a bit unprepared. All of the concepts are outlined in the CSO. There really shouldn't be any surprises on exam day. It sounds like if you thought the SIMS were a “joke” that you may not have fully understood the concepts.

mimimorty, you are being a little harsh, you are making this person feel even worse.

there is allways a surprise on test date, not everyone can get to understand each concept 100%

some tests are harder that others

this person may end up getting a 90, they just finished and are not sure

There is no way to be fully prepared for this exam.

If you yourself were 100% prepared you wouldve gotten a 99 and not an 85, so clearly you were “unprepared” yourself going into the exam so take your pretentious attitude and preach to someone who cares.

Right, because there is nothing in between being “fully prepared” and thinking the SIMS were “a joke.”

Agree with @Mini. I think if you've truly done your job at truly understanding the material, there should be no surprises on test day. Even if you get a difficult SIM, you should be able to at least give it a decent shot… or at least know enough about the topic to find some help on the Research Tab. @Goodluck, you are right, it would be practically impossible to be 100% ready for these tests; however, you can put yourself in a much better position to pass by studying efficiently.

I think it was Baseball who once wrote this: “The SIMS separate the bulimics (those who can only eat and subsequently regurgitate information) from the chefs (take raw information and put spells on it and give it back to the AICPA in different forms when asked on the exam). Sims test your logic on top of your memory. No need to continue here. UNDERSTAND the material, and strong sims will follow”

@goodlucktoeveryone, don't stress about it. It's over, and you can't do anything about it now. These exams are tricky and there's no way to know how well/worst you may have done.

If you have gave your everything, you will pass!!! Good Luck, hoping best for you:!)

    I was exaggerating

out of the 6 sims; 4 of them were reasonable, 1 was difficult, and 1 was out of left field

But to take a topic that was barely touched in the becker and wiley books and make a 15 question simulation out of it is a little extreme in my opinion.

thanks cpa 🙂 If I had to guess my score, I'd peg it around the mid 70s. It's definitely going to be close…

You went from “sims were a joke” to “4 out of 6 were reasonable.” how were people supposed to know you were exaggerating? Kind of like you were exaggerating when you said you used Becker, huh? Lol. Man, you are all over the place. No wonder this exam is tricky for you.

    Lol

@Goodluck…Don't mean to stirr the pot or anything, but… “…to take a topic that was barely touched in the becker and Wiley books…”

I thought you swore off Becker and said you'd never use it, you just said you used the Becker book for REG.

I didn't use becker once for my second time studying for REG. I just went through the book to see if this particular topic that I struggled with was mentioned and it was, albeit briefly. My opinion that becker is complete garbage has gotten even more fervent after using different books.

I like to be conservative about my personal performance on exams or anything in general. If you want my honest opinion, I didn't think the MCQ were that hard this time around and won't be the reason I failed.

If you happen to fail, and I hope you dont, will it be:

    A) Becker's fault

    B) Wiley's fault

    C) Your fault

    D) AICPA's fault

You mentioned you are better with multiple choice, so I thought I would throw you a zinger.

This crossed a line that should not be crossed. Like I said, agree to disagree and move on.

Um, this has gone too far. Time to play nice with the other children. Sometimes we have to agree to disagree.

Mini you are a complete tool…..as my Grandpa once said “if you don't have something nice to say, you must be mini”.

I guarandangtee you I was prepared and on both Audit and Law, I had SIMS that were on topics that were never discussed in either module. The basic information sought in the SIM was covered in the review courses but the overriding topic which added significant difficulty to the SIM wasn't (I think it will be covered in FAR, in fact). I got through them but when I left the exam I felt much like goodluck here and I came out fine.

No one on this site is as abusive to other posters are you are, a fact your probably revel in. You should try being nice or just not posting at all.
