I’m just curious have any of you limited social media to help you focus and study better? I find that I get easily distracted and am constantly checking my social media! What’s been your strategy?

Tinder profile only created for Megan Fox. Still waiting for her.

Keep checking social media and figure out how many people like the pic of your dog.

The rest of us will be making money.

    Good luck!

I've deleted all social media, except for LinkedIn. Not only is it distracting but I've come to a point in my life where I am uneasy with people having the ability to contact me in so many different ways. You can't really “unplug” when you're on social media.

    haha exactly!

Example: when you don't respond to a call because you're busy, they might text you later asking why you haven't returned their call although you tweeted like 10 minutes ago. Such a waste of energy and time is not used for a good purpose.

Be an adult and log out of your accounts. Boom problem solved. Who knew it could have possibly been so easy?

Instagram has been deleted. I have LinkedIn but don't really use it (don't even see the point of it). I have Facebook and I do find it distracting. But it's good to go on when I take a break from studying. I'm on this website the most though.

If you can't help checking it there are apps/add-ons that limit your time on social media, or completely block it. Getcoldturkey.com

I deleted my social media apps about a month ago. It was a little weird at first to open my phone and not have FB or IG to look into and it really made me realize how much time I spent on them.

I still lurk on quora when I'm taking my breaks though 😛

If you feel like you're becoming a hermit, you can try texting/emailing someone different everyday. I noticed I actually keep in touch with more people than I did with social media.

There's a MAC application called “Self-Control” that i've used for YEARS.

It lets you put in a bundle of websites and it will block you from being able to access this on your Mac from any application for the specified period of time.

I set it to block everything until my break. Helps a lot

Actions reflect priorities. When you want something badly enough, you'll become less distracted by things that don't matter.

We all need a break from time to time, but when your social media activities are cutting into your study time, it's no longer merely a break. Social media is your priority. Think long and hard about why you are doing this and whether or not you want to still be studying for these exams a year from now.

    Hi-

I did the same once I started studying. I removed all my Social Media Apps from my phone which are what'sapp, instagram, Face Book, and Twitter. I have less to focus on, all I have to do is focus on my studies and look at the big picture.

    All the best. Cheers
